Any pics of the chassis hack in progress? I know it is a bit of a late question to ask.. I had hacked a High Lift chassis and shortened the WB to put an og blackfoot on it.. and have a land cruiser body (tamiya) that I have been wanting to build under.. your build looks great! |

Thanks for the compliments. Well i worked on it a little bit today and for the first time really working with styrene I am proud of what I did. Check it out. It still needs a dash and the tranny tunnel finished. I also made door panels for it as well that i really like. Well here are the pics: |

| Thanks!! Its getting there. Quote:
Thanks!! Its not bad. It was pretty easy once I got rollin along. I just need to learn to sand it and bend it without it snapping. Well not really much to update. I did cut down the styrene a little so the body sits lower on the chassis. Now it just looks like it has a slight body lift. Also made the move to 1.55" stompers. The thrashers are a little small for me. Just need to sell my REVO and should be able to finish it up in a month or so. | |

Any updates? I'm a big early Bronco fan and I'd love to see how a truly scale one would look. Thinking of doing one myself. Maybe a noob question, but how did you reattach the cut frame rails together after shortening them? And you said the CR01 links work with the shorter wheelbase on the SCX chassis; do you mean they work uncut/standard length? Thanks. EDIT: Just read the thread again and saw in post 18 that you just cut off the front and back ends of the frame. Not sure how I missed that... Last edited by Grey Machine; 02-17-2010 at 02:15 PM. Thanks for all the kind words. Yeah its definatly slowed down A LOT!!!! I am working on my Shortcourse for race season and my 1:1 Toyota Surf. The frame is out being built by TROST and I do have a new body here waiting to get the paint job. Also picked up side turnsignal light buckets and a few other little little things to make it more scale. Currently I am saving up for the D35 axles but funds might force me to run TLTs or TREX plastics which are too wide and I really dont want to do. I will post some pics up as soon as the new frame arrives and will be back on track and just waiting on paint. |

| Im wondering the same i have a mrc just calling me to put a bronco body on. I did some measuring and the mrc axles are really narrow for the body but i plan on putting some wheels on it that come with 10mm offset adapters for each wheel so it will be a total of 20mm per axle and with some flat irons i think it will look pretty tuff.

Ill do some measuring to see if they will fit under there and get it posted up. Another great body came out made by Proline. They made a 73 with a top in a larger scale and also made a CGR bodied 73 Bronco. Im defiantly buying them and throwin them on the shelf. It might be easier to get axles to fit those.
