I still think the Nissan D21 Hardbody is better, but that body completely blows away any Nissan D21 scale body I have ever seen!
I had better stop staring at the pictures before my iPad shorts out from me drooling all over it LOL.
Good job!

More work on this, I had to take a break on it because I was adding some upholstery to the wraith seats with the stick on felt I use and I sliced my thumb with the exacto knife pretty good. Thumb is healed so its full steam a head !

Started by making an inclinometer/altimeter using a dinky rc one that I cut up and modified so that it would like up then. I used gauge stickers from an old scale 4x4 member outcastrc that he had printed for me some years back.

The gauges were a little to big but it looks the part so I ran with it

I then moved the rest of the dash. modified the dinky steering column with a Key and cylinder from Rccrawler-it, added some styrene rod to simulate turn signals and head light switch. Went a Axial steering wheels and detailed to resemble a GT Grant. I set the dash up like m 4runner, non SR5 so no tachometer, I like to change it up from time to time and most of the ones I do, do have a tach. The lighting is a bit off as the gauge stickers were different so the altimeter is a little bit it greener. Bob is okay with it, which was good, because it was already all glued up and not coming back apart

looks the part to me!

Head back down to the shop now to do some more work

-Mike

MTHead emblems

Little flex on the 4 door

Winch decals in place

Almost done, going to build the factory style roll bar and finish gluing windows into cap along with the sliding side ones and she should be about ready to go back to Bob

Just realized I forgot this update. This truck is actually almost done. Got the new transmission for it just gotta make up some mounts and get some electronics from Bob.

So I did make a part that was missing and was key in this build. The factory roll bar...

Main hoop

Support bars

Just gotta toss some paint on it

So I am wrapping this up...5 years later... I'm surprised Bob hasn't killed me yet. Then again it would never get done then. Bob gave me another reminder a week or so back that I need to finish this. Plus I'm legit running out of room down stairs and need to make room for a blue and white fj55...sadly, which will be last RC I probably buy for a while since my Hilux decided it wanted to smash my garage the other day but that's a whole different story. Back to 4Runner

Brackets made for RC4WD GRU

Painted and mounted roll bar

Painted front shock hoops

Mounted RC4WD T case

Made up pede drive shafts with steel yokes

Trimmed chino skid for rear shaft

Detailed rear gate key cylinder and drivers door key lock cylinder

Rest of windows in cap are glued in and drying tonight, have to paint a set of wipers and install them. Drill front cross member for a servo and I think it's officially done then

Thank you sir

Painted and installed wiper blades, finished gluing Windows in cap. Outside pics tomorrow after I drill cross member for servo. Then it's officially finished, at least on my end.

I'm going to add a really ugly scratch built PVC snorkel like the "Jeep kids" do and drive it right into my swimming pool before I give it back to Bob.
