Thanks I like how it turned out.

It's a bit overdue but here are the after pics from the comp i ran it in.

It took a nasty tumble on the first big climb and hit the passenger side fender hard.

and the roof

plus wiped out the rear tail lights good

then further down the course I wedged the drivers side roof under an overhang

then getting to the last gate i drug the drivers side really nicely.

In all it worked well And i can't wait until the next one.

Nice makeover. The more I see the metal bodies and how when done right it looks like real damage as you would see on a 1:1,the more I am considering one for a future rig,may even build some scale body hammers and a dent puller to pull out any of the bigger dents.

Go for it! there is nothing like getting real damage when wheeling. I would like to see some scale body tools, that would be neat.

if you can find a body that i could make molds of i could help you out for sure.

Last weekend was my last comp of the season for our club so i decided to make a couple small updates to the truck.

First i fixed the passenger side front fender.

then i added a tray for some more accessories.

and i added some side markers, breakable of course.

and fixed the tail light lenses. I also won a tire cover during the comp raffle so i threw that on for fun

The courses were pretty rough, here are pics after the first course.

I fixed some of the damage then went onto the second course. I'm not sure which course was worse!

Time to bang out more dents then wheel it again.

wow i love this rebuild. i have been following this rig since it was a 2.2 comp truck and it has changed alot since then. you must put alot of time painting all those panels to just smash them which i would never do but that is why your rig it very cool and original. do you make your rear light lenses because you said something about how they are breakable.

Thanks. I've been thinking about doing another thread just showing pics of it's transformation. Actually i'm already thinking about how to change it again

Actually i have it down to a science and it doesn't take all that long to paint. That's mostly why i keep the whole truck the same color.

Yes i make all my own lenses. I use a product called EZwater. It's used to make water scenes in dioramas.

Killer fab skills. This is by far one of the neatest scalers I have seen. Keep up the good work.

Pure awesomeness, I love it. I wish I could TIG like that. Seeing a bead that looks like a roll of coins spread out like that is pure art to me.
