Small update, some pics from last weeks start. I do have to say that I really love working with the Chromoly over solid. However, I did use some solid rod for the sider/boatsides, but the rest will be tube and a few pieces of 1/8" here and there for gussets and the window center down bars.

Been following that YJ Truggy build on Pirate for what seems like years. Truly a one of a kind rig, and it looks like your 1/10 will be as well.

Moar updates please!

I got an email from Pitbull Tire Corp. confirming the pre-order of the new 1.9 tires. They will be mounted on these:

Should be pretty damn close to the 1:1.....Sweeeet!

It would really be sweet if you could get a passenger and driver axle housing machined.....Actually I guess with serious skills you could build your own passenger housing, and have one machined up for the drivers side. Use a second rcv by the "pumpkin". Making a scale TTB front end.

That was one of the big things about the 1:1. Strong-basically D60 independent front suspension, for the go fast sections, and still able to crawl over the slower stuff

Should be a fun build to watch, just like the 1:1 was.

As of now the plan is to make it more of a Class2 rig by sticking with the Losi axles and trans. But as for the rest of the build, I'm staying as close to the 1:1 as possible. The tube work on the 1:1 is very unique! I've spent/spend a lot of time studying pictures and find something new each time. It's simple and intricate at the same time.

I do really dig the front axle though and have spun various ideas around in my head on how I could replicate it. I'll save that for a another day.

I had no idea this rig was in the 2011 KOH, I found the build thread after seeing a pic of it in CRAWL magazine. It's awesome, the 1:1 shocks even look just like the prolines power strokes. I love the boat sides, the low stance, and I'm a sucker for orange and black.

I'm sure you'll do this rig justice, so far looking good

I want one for myself

Thanks Oso! I haven't seen any homegrown pics of the 1.9s yet. Can't wait to see them mounted up on the rig.

Looking really sharp. The doors look great and the Iroks look killer to me, but I definitely want to see those pit bulls.
