| Die-Laughing's BadAss FJ
Die-Laughing's New Toy! Here's how I got it... I recently acquired this rig from The Scale Shop's STANG KILLA SS He called it "BAMFJ" and it sure is Bad Ass! Now, I didn't know much history on this truck before I decided it should be mine. He posted it up in the classified's and I said.. Yes! From what I understand, It was dreamed up by STANG KILLA SS almost 2 years ago and the tube work was done by Daniel. I'm not sure exactly who "Daniel" is but, what I do know is, He does some nice work. The project came to a finished state and then was never used. It sat around for quite a while before he posted it up for sale. Original Thread: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/1-9-s...ss~-bamfj.html Here's some more pictures of the tube work.. Some Specs: Chassis: TSS Custom 11" Body: Proline Bushwacker Tube Work: 3/16" Brazed Axial Interior Losi aluminum shocks Rpm lightbar Future Plans: To Be Determined. I don't have a set plan right now but, I know it will be great. Stay Tuned! |

Thanks guys Here's a little progress update.. I bought a GCM Transfercase a while back with drill & modified shafts that looked like they were on their last leg. I machined some new shafts from Hardened 5mm 01 Tool Steel at work and just put it back together tonight with new metal shielded bearings from Fast Eddy. I think I'm going to use this transfercase in this truck and mount the motor/trans up front under the hood. Here's the components: Here it is all together: I want to do something a little different while I'm in the process of making this truck my own so, I'm going to go with a bright metallic silver on the tube work.. which means, It's ready to get blasted! Here's whats left of the chassis. I'm going to make new links and clean it all up. The skid plate needs some attention.. well, It needs to be replaced. I'm going to machine a piece of black delrin to accept my GCM case. This truck is super cool but, there is still room for improvement. I don't know what I'm going to run for axle's yet. |

i vote white roll cage, and "land-cruiser-tan" body. that way it'll have that classic white topped cruiser look but either way i'm excited to watch it unfold! |

i almost pulled the trigger on this, but then looked at the three projects on my bench and figured it would be more sickness piling up on the hoard. great score, glad to see someone snag it up. good luck with it and do us all proud. |

enjoy it ;) looking forward to the transformation. i wasnt a fan of the aluminum skid either. but went with it on this one rig because it gained me a 1/4" to lower the tranny so it didnt poke threw the interior so bad after i gave up on the divorsed setup. looking forward to more! sweet. glad to see this being built up. I am actually the "Daniel" that did the tubework. StangkillaSS contacted me about building the chassis, a while back and i agreed to do it in my spare time. it took a while to complete but he was very patient and finnally after a few months i got it out to him. im not the greatest builder but i think it really came out nice. good luck with the project and i will be watching for sure.

Thanks everyone and looneybin Here's a little update, I got the chassis blasted. I think that red paint came straight from hell. That was not fun to blast.. it just didn't want to come off! But, I got it done. As most of you probably do not know, I'm a Machinist by trade so.. I get to make myself cool parts. Here's a set of 2.2 wheels that I'm working on that I think will go perfect on this truck with 1.9 Irok's on them (that's the plan). pictured is just the center of the wheel, I'm also making beadlock rings. and here's the hubs I made. I can't wait to get these bad boys mounted! |

Does look like nice tube work. Just removing the red improved this rig 3x as much. Keep it up |
