1/10 FJ body from E-Toys Website or On Amazon (although they are now out of stock, wonder if I got the last one?) All this comes with the kit, yes even the screwdriver Nice details and features, the mirrors even have the reflective mirror looking tape on the them! Crooked emblems anyone? Starting with a stock RTR Last edited by Ramination; 02-22-2012 at 11:29 AM. |

The body comes with headlights and tail lights. I charged the battery and gave them a go. The way they are wired now the headlights come one when going forward, and tail lights light up when going in reverse. I intend to wire them so they are not directional. The nice thing about this body is that the turn signals are ready to accept a light (see pic below) and all of the bumpers, light buckets and windows are held in place with little screws, and the mirrors and door handles are hot glued in place. Also, the wheel wells are removable, I may be able to use them on the new frame. Overall so far the body has been real easy to work with. Oh yea, and the roof rack is metal. Here is what we are working with: |

Anyone see why I am going to be repositioning the body back ~0.25" tonight? (2 reasons actually) First person gets a prize!

steer clearance and center the transmission to optimize weight distribution and make the front and rear links near equal helps with drive shaft angle...but I really like these new FJ's |

You win! Your choice of the hard plastic BFG all terrains on 1.75" wheels or the tx that is eitehr 100% forward or 100% reverse (does have steering wheel on each side for left and right handed drivers, take that into consideration) |

Shouldn't be an issue once the body moves back a tad and of course the front bumper will be trimmed and eventually replaced with something beefy.

Short wheelbase rides are fun! I can't wait to see how you tackle it. Looks to be about the same wheelbase as the New Bright TJ. ~9.75? I used 65mm lower and 55mm upper links. Worked out almost spot on. I also moved the trans mount and rear shock towers forward 1/4" each. I should start a build thread before I get too far into it. |

No way, this is the 1.9 forum! Those aren't a bad looking tire, but they just don't catch my eye like TSLs do. | ||||

So, I forgot both of my SD cards at work yesterday, so I didn't get any in progress build pictures, or pictures from its first time in the dirt (it was too dark anyway), BUT, I did do a mini photoshoot in the back seat of my truck this morning when I got to work. I only ended up going back with the body about 3/8", I thought I was going to do 1/2" but once I got to working on it I liked how it fit better this way. Ended up taking exactly 1" off the frame at the rear. No shot of the rear...maybe at lunch. Following are at full stuff, tire just barely makes contact with the fender. Perfect if you ask me Last edited by Ramination; 02-23-2012 at 07:06 AM. |

| Ramination's FJ Dimensions 1:1 Dimensions Length: 177.6 inches Width: 74.6 inches Wheelbase: 105.9 inches Height: 78 inches with roof rack Body Height: ~59 inches Tires: 32 inches tall 1:10 Body Dimensions: Length: 15.5 inches (1:11.5 scale) Width: 7.0 inches (1:10.7 scale) Wheelbase: 10.0 inches (1:10.6 scale) Height: ~ 5.5 inches (body alone) (1:10.73 scale) Rig Dimensions: Track Width: 8 7/8 inches (8.875) Wheelbase: 10 3/8 inches (10.375) Height: 8 5/8 inches (8.625) to top of rack, 7 7/8 inches (7.875) to top of roof Tires: 4.25 inches So, looking at the difference in heights and subtracting the gain from tire it's equivalent to a 1:1 FJ lifted 8.25 inches (Based on scaling numbers to 1:10) Last edited by Ramination; 06-28-2012 at 12:00 PM. |
