| Brian's F150 Build (Pic HEAVY)
My good friend Brian at Walker Communications wanted a scale rig to match his 1:1 work truck. So I ordered all the necessary bits and pieces to get this thing going and here's what we have so far. We started with this. The body didn't fit the chassis as well as I hoped. So it was time for the tear down and shortening of the wheelbase. Finally got down to the bare frame. Then I started mocking up the layout so I could measure for my links and drive shafts. I could tell with the axle placement I would have to change the shock mounts too. After much measuring and moving and measuring and moving I finally made my custom links. This is as low as she will sit. It's sitting here under its own weight with no suspension. Now its time to move the shock mounts and put some spring in its step. I've since added the drive shaft and electronics. More pictures to follow. I still need to paint the body, add a camper shell and and antennas to this thing. My first custom crawler build is going well. |

Progress pics gone wild! Very nice buildup. If I didn't know better, I'd think you were getting paid by the picture! Keep us posted. |

Nope, not paid by the pic, I just love playing with my camera. This is also my first chance to play with my jack stands and make shift garage.

Those jackstands are sharp. If they were graduated in mms I'd pick a set up to help with mockups, but they look a little steppy.
