Volvo c303 Revisited

Seeing the latest string of military and civilian utility vehicle builds popping up inspired me to get my Volvo back on the road.

When I originally built it, I styled it after the Dakar model that won it's class back in the early eighties. This time around, it'll be in civilian garb. One thing that always bugged me, was my lack of attention to detail and lack of skill, that prevented me from creating the proper chassis and drivetrain.

WELL NO MORE!



I'll be using my reduced Gmade portal axles and a GCM chassis. I'll be ordering a new one though, as I don't feel like cutting these nice, long, long, long rails. Chris was pleasant enough to fabricate me some custom mounts so I can run proper leaf springs on his chassis. Brilliant.

I'm looking forward to playing with this one again.

I'm not sure how to answer your question. I spent a lot of time researching, then I started measuring and cutting styrene.


I wanted to take moment to re-explain my axles. These are G-Made R1's that I narrowed. Quite nice to actually have portals on a truck that in real life has portals. Portals.
