no doubt though, I'm sure james could cut the center/grill out and build a GMC style grill/insert for it

Thanks man.

So I've spoke with Colby and my rear bumper is in the works. Now I've got to get the front bumper done, some sliders and a roll bar to protect the cab. I also got my Dinkys GR7 and Split skid with BombProof Supershafty gears. This thing is going to be intense . But one of the cooler things I'm bringing to this build is this dash. I found a guy on Facebook that's making them, talk about realistic...check this out .

I found them on Facebook. $40 shipped for a non painted dash. His name is Geoff Docherty

I know right?!? I had to have it, esp for this build where the dash will be so visable. I plan on cutting the gauges out and back lighting them with LEDs .

Dammit man, that is sick. But I do have to say, this rig is gonna look like it was built from using whatever you could find, if it were 1.1, I mean......81-87 (basically) body, I know the blazers, suburbans, and crew cabs used this body style till like 90......88-90 blazer, suburban, crew cab grill.......but know a 73-80 dash?

Don't get me wrong, I know it will all look damn good, and personall I like the overall look of the 73-80 bodies best myself. Keep up the great work james

That dash is tits bro! Love your work and details like the dash is the things that take builds over the top.

I've got a simple fix for it all. I'm now building a 1989 K5 Blazer

I know right? He did some stellar work on it. Its molded, so we will see how heavy it is before I commit to using it. Im keeping my weight and COG in mind throughout the build. The idea is to build a very scale, very capable rig to compete with.

I got some work done on the chassis tonight. I started with a scx10 chassis. I assembled the skid and trans setup with a Supershafty Bomb Proof outdrive on the Dinky GR7 and Robinson gears with a one piece output on the split skid.

The skid installed on the frame rails.

I love how tight this setup is.

I mounted a Hands Bros CMS kit, a Savox 1256TG servo and a Tekin ROC412 3100KV motor while I was at it .

Junfac shafts hook it all up. I used shrink tube on the set screws and rings on the shafts.

I picked up a set of Felstenfast diff lockers from uclabruins89. Once those get here I'll assemble this pile of Axial, RC4WD and Beeftube goodness.

Thanks. I picked up those parts from here AX-10 Trans & Parts - Super Shafty
I really like how everything is tucked in close and as low as possible. I'm not sure how it compares to other setups I have tried yet, but I guess we'll see. My dash and lockers should be going out today, Im getting anxious to have a running crawler again, lol. All of my rigs have been torn down for a long time and Im having withdrawals. I have 4 more rigs to wrap up for customers and then Im taking a few months off to get my own stuff up and running. I've been working on bodies only for so long that I've almost forgotten how to wrench on them.

So I have started on the paint work. It'll be a blue and white two tone that breaks at the body line. Of course it'll get a healthy coat or two of wet clear once the blue is done. I'll move on to the rest once my lockers show up and I get the chssis rolling.

Happens to me all the time bub . Thank you for the kind words.

SO I started assembling the axles today. Seeing as how I'm using Beeftubes, I have to modify the axle housings some. On the left is the modified housing and on the right is the stock housing.

This is how you know you did it right. Again, left is modified and right is stock.

Now that the housings are ready, I got my stock gears in the back, and Over Drive gears up front mounted to Felstenfest lockers.

Here's a little trick I use until I'm ready to put on the C-Hubs or Lockouts. Simply instal one of the screws. It keeps everything inline for final assembly so you don't have to go hole hunting while trying to sandwich the axle housing halves.

The end result is a set of heavy and strong axles that should give me a tight turning radius. Between the OD gears up front and the RC4WD Xtreme Duty XVDs it should be better than stock anyways. Next up, get the axles and shocks all mounted up.
