Awesome looking forward to it! I see how that could be pricey. I've been looking into getting some DOM from this place but have been too scared to actually do it as I still have a bunch of brake line to go through. Not a ton of sources to find 3/16" tube! |

I was having a hard time choosing a frame for the trail toy until I stumbled across one on the for sale section. Thanks to yjdavid I now possess a period correct OG bruiser frame. David had the original hangers, shocks, and leaf packs......SCORE! I shaved the sidewalls and softened the rubber on my favorite 1.5 tires for this build. I sand blasted my steelies and hit them with some flat black and added some locked up scale lug nuts I started on my rear bumper to match the front and another set of sliders. This is the first phase for the new sliders. The first set that I built are getting boxed up and sent to another board member for his rig. More to come.......... |

Builds looking great man. Got to love those old bikes. I sold my 74 cb550 cafe bike a few months back and regret it more then anything I've sold. Link to it if you care to see http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/u...0/DSC_0502.jpg |

Ryan thank you for the interest. I was sidetracked with a few other projects. I built a pretty nice deadbolt for my eight year old daughter and am finishing up a 1.9 scx wraith for my 3 year old daughter as we speak. I also helped a good friend install a bunch of performance parts,a winch, and a few led ligh bars on his 1.1 utv. Now it's time to get back on my build" I have gotten some body work done and have decided to change gears on the base for this build. I have 2 sets of axials to chose from for this build. One set is a full blown set of scx curries and the other a fully loaded set of scx stuffed with brass burley tubes, xr universals, vanquish lockouts, chubs, and knuckles, Ud and hd gears with fi spools. With my drivetrain options I'm going to go with tasteful 1.9's. So I'm going to need the moderators to move this one to the 1.9 section..... Last edited by Bananaclip; 02-21-2015 at 05:54 PM. |

I love the looks of those 1.55 rock stomper tires ! Are they very good for all around trailing or would 1.55 growlers be better ?

I love the stompers looks and I think they would do well on rocks. I live in West Virginia and we run mostly wooded trails. I am certain that the growlers would be a better all around performer. I just picked up a set of 1.9 growlers for another build and cannot wait to run them.

Yeah, the growlers are probably what I'll end up with because I run mostly in wooded trails that have a little of everything. I just keep finding myself looking at builds with rock stompers because they remind me of full size trucks when I was growing up and that's what most of us are trying to recreate with our rc rigs. |

Ok guy's I have both of my girls 1.9 rigs finished and feel it's time to get daddy's build back on track. While being sidetracked I came up with yet another direction for this little toy. I decided since time is limited for me now that this build needs to look scale and perform well all in one. So I unloaded my previous chassis and picked up one that will satisfy the trucks requirements. I must say that this frame is super beefy and has many set up options. New diff's are fully assembled with rc bros brass splined tubes, axial steering, HD front/UD rear, LU FI spools, LU rear axle shafts, Vanquish bling. xr shafts, Delux bushings, rear 4 link truss built by me. I wanted a nice tire tuck so I picked up some gmade steelies with CI foams and wildpeaks, topped off with LU's Scale lugnuts. (Damn I love Locked Up RC) Did a few modifications to the new frame |

I've been using 4130 for many many years. Glad to hear someone else finally using quality material. Nice build

Thanks Ryan, this build actually has stopped. I am going to give the TF2 a go. I really wanted to go with leafs on my yota build and damn I hope I can keep the yota axles together. The body will live on in the TF2 section. I plan on doing some custom metal work and really attempt to put together a leaf sprung rig that works. Wish me luck |
