The interior fits really well inside the body and on the chassis. I'll probably have to cut part of the dash/floorboard I t the center to clear the driveline and lower the body and COG but it should be pretty straight forward.

Here's a pic I snapped before leaving home of the panhard/drag link in the "magic parallelogram"

Ok, back in town! Ready to make some progress on this build! Put a RR steel idler gear in the dinky split skid for a full metal tranny! Also mocked up the body and decided I am going to cut off the rear seats in order to get everything mounted as low as possible. As you can see it sits kinda high in the pic.

Nice build! Is the pan hard axle bracket a VP part? I couldn't tell from the parts list.

Thank you sir! Yes, both the axle panhard mount and servo/chassis panhard mount are from VP. (updated the parts list, thanks!) I am still trying to eliminate all the bump-steer from the setup - I believe it may be caused the up/down swing of the 8* knuckles since they do not remain parallel to the servo horn throughout the steering cycle. I might steal the 0* knucks/chubs from my bronco to test this hypothesis.

More updates coming soon!

Put the knife to the body finally! Also sawed the back seats off and dremeled the center console for driveshaft & transfer case clearance. Gonna keep the COG nice and low

Got the homemade servo winch mounted - it's a perfect fit! It seems everything will tuck away neatly in the front of the truck. See pics below. Also masked up the body for paint tomorrow.

Looking good, just made a winch out of the same servo for my brat build. What servo mounts are you using?

Thanks! The servo mounts are actually some crummy Hot Racing mounts from an old AX10 hop up package that came with a funky machined aluminum servo plate. They were living on the wall of the LHS for years probably and my buddy made them an offer for cheap and picked em up. I had to drill out the non threaded holes with an 1/8" bit since they interfered with the included M3 screws lol.

I just used an axial aluminum spacer + 1 m3 washer to get the same offset (through the shock hoop hole) as the plastic axial chassis brace.
You have a brat build thread?

The D772 is wearing a Mad Dog RC 23t winch spool.
That servo will break stuff on 3s - hope you have good winch line I'll be using the Hey OK 4amp fused relay controller with the R2104GF. The S-FHSS receivers are great with Hey OK winch controllers because if your radio dies or gets turned off, the winch won't auto-retract (if you have the fail-safe set for that channel).

I'm hoping to paint the body today if it gets warm enough to lay down a few coats! However, I'm debating whether or not to trim the fenders more BEFORE painting since I know they interfere with the growlers. I want to give them a chance to work but want to minimize the amount of trimming after paint. Suggestions?!?

Here's a link to my brat build
My Subaru "WRAT"

I wouldn't worry about trimming the fenders after you paint. You can always use a sanding drum on a dremel on low speed to smooth things out

Looking good, I have to ask why did you cut the rear out of the interior?

Thanks! I separated the seat rows and shaved off some material to shorten the gap between the front and rear seats. As it was, the shock hoops came up through the inside of the rear seats. Now the seats will clear the front of the hoops, I just have to make cutouts in the cargo area for the hoops and goo or glue the two parts back together again.

Very nice, I bought a set of 2.2 methods (silver black rings) but dig the heck out of your orange ones.
My lhs has a big vp order coming in next week, I hope a set of 1.9" orange and black methods like yours come in, I'll be walking out with them.
I'm running 1.9" revolvers right now, just took the growlers off and put my new rock beasts on.
Haven't had a chance to give them a go yet.
At first I thought the smaller diameter would look less attractive but once you look a bit their quit pleasing the the eye.

Thanks, your XJ looks sweet! I love the methods, which were a breeze to mount the growlers and CI foams to. I lucked out in that they were the ONLY colored methods available with black rings on rpp's site at the time. Just checked and they're all sold out at the moment. Lemme know what you end up with

Been lagging a little on this since I'm actually in the process of getting a 1:1. Got the window masks off so I can see where things line up with the interior.
