| Lentsnh2012 Builds: 1981 Toyota Pickup Take 2
Now that the original white Toyota is now in 1BadJeepBruiser's hands and missing it dearly, I decided to build another! However, with a slight twist. The previous take was meant to look like and perform like a Weekend Warrior. With Take 2, I'll be focusing more on the Trailer Queen/Raisin style. Low, wide with taller tires and linked suspension. This will be based off of the super simple SCX10 chassis, Jeep Wrangler RTR to be specific. Right now, The wheelbase is a little long and the width is a little narrow, so that'll have to be addressed after the body is set and the real axles come in. Parts List: Jevne Racing CMS Brick plate Duuuuuuuuuude Method replicas Locked UP RC beadlock rings RC4WD 80mm Dual Rate Shocks Build some armor with Canvas topper VP hubs VP CMS plate VP Links eBay special K44 knockoffs (will do a review of these in this thread as well) Standard Axial RTR electronics Savox 1256TG Futaba radio/receiver After cutting out the bed and throwing some Yota I axles underneath: Last edited by Lentsnh2012; 09-27-2015 at 04:48 PM. |

Awesome! I am very happy to see V2 coming. I just received my frame rails so I will be playing catch up on my little toy the next few days. Today is my Friday |

Holler if you have any questions or if you think I need some advice. I'm all for that. My challenge is to get the body to sit directly onto the frame and have as little frame to body gap as possible while still allowing room for a simple interior and other scale bits. | ||

Whoops! That was a big ol' slip! But thank you for sharing. I'll try to keep with the theme in the first picture. All of the guys that I used to 1:1 wheel with had the lower bodied crawlers and it was just amazing at how well it conquered the obstacles. What I do love most about that crawler you posted up is the fact that it's a pre-75 Toyota Hilux. It's not all that often to see one roaming the trails. That's the plan! 'guyTruck? I'll be watching, I am very curious about the knock off 44s, the price seems unbeatable. I have been wanting to buy a set for sometime but ummmm Subaru problems is the excuse I'll go with. And yes, low Toyota work best... I'm highly against Toyota monster trucks.. Never understood why guys did 4 and 5" spring set ups |

I literally just started messing with this thing tonight. The bed has been finished and now going to work on the rear suspension- 3 link w/ track bar front AND rear.
