It's my class 2 rig, so it will be there! Working on the rear bumper now. Also, I cut the back end and fixed the way the rear fender areas kick up at the back. I am so ready to be done with this jeep!!!

Got a few test packs in yesterday before starting on the rear reworking and rear bumper. As usual, with most of my builds, this rig works better than it looks. I went back to standard width front axle and put a 1:1 transfer case in. The 1200kv Tekin 412 is ultra smooth and has the right amount of pep on 3s or 4s. rear bumper looks stout! and why back to standard width front axle? was it to wide for the look compared to the 1:1?

The width was too much with 4.3" tires, ie would be a pumpkin dragger. The width looked like 1-ton axles but I knew it wouldnt be a good crawling setup. I still get full lock to lock with the standard with and SSD steering an axle parts.

love the 3dness of the bumper also i dig how cramped and scale u made the underhood area. ie you have to remove half the damn motor to get to that one friggin bolt you need to work on. |

| Re: Szczerba's Jeep Cherokee Hardbody, Build #56 Yup, it all had to fit under the hood area. I actually have some spare space in front of the driver area too! The hood/front clip is just held in by the cage work, no bolts or clips or anything. Pry in it off and on, not too tough but will scratch the paint over time but so will my driving skills. Only limiting factor is I cannot run the hard plastic front windshield, as the windshield frame has to flex some to get it out. I am hunting a piece of clear tupperware plastic to glue in but for now, no front windshield.

Grab some clear plastic from packaging on your kids toys, works great as super flexible.

I had the perfect piece but looked away five seconds when heating it up to peel the stickers off, melted. I have a bin full of junk plastic. Quote:
I like to build AND drive. Super fast bumper, paint, weld, then magic marker to cover up weld spots. Excuse the low light. Fuel cell added too.

Isnt it amazing that you can build a complete chassis from scratch and still end up with $1800.00 in it. You have done a fantastic job on this actually looks better than the 1:1 version. I may have missed it, but are you going to install a windscreen?

| Re: Szczerba's Jeep Cherokee Hardbody, Build #56 Literally, no one would give me what I would need out of it. $2k in parts and over 60 build hours of labor. Quote:
Thank you sir. Not one of my best looking rigs but it does work ok. Had a poor outing a few weeks at the RC4WD event in Disney, OK. New rig with zero test time, it needs some tuning. Some of the pictures by Cindy Williams. The front axle cover cost me at least 10 reverses on the day. Another guy was running them too and was getting hung up like crazy too. I almost chuncked these housings but decided to get the SSD aluminum cover. Supplied button head screws dont really fit, so I used the stock socket heads. New Lil Nova Crawler Innovations 4.25" foams, 1.9 Vanquish shooters and the used rc4wd 1.9 fuels.

That is one reason I never got a set. But I have seen a few different covers coming out to help the issue. Not to mention the rocks at Disney are some of the grippiest I have ever run on! RC4WD Team Driver*Krawl Off-Road |

Yeah, it was a total bummer cause i know the disney terrain well and I was having to fight it. Quote:
That only covers parts and zero labor hours. its going to be a while before i even consider letting it go. As soon as the scxii axle parts are available, ill be piecing them together.
