Default "Project Junk Yard Dog" Toyota Build

Ok I know some of you are probably tired of seeing all the Yota's floating around. But after many of the Trail Rigs by Chino and Disturbin and others, I had to get my hands dirty and build one as they look soo cool and realistic. So I set out to achieve something very similar to Chino63 in hopes that it will come out half as good as his.
I am using my dropped bed, and just finished up cutting and narrowing up a set of NEW 2.2 Claw Dawgs into 1.9's.. not sure if they will stay on the project or not.. But it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.

As well someone said why not make a Topper or Bed cover, so I have one in very rough layout as I have to make the inner roof ribs to mold the top and cut some of the old Bruiser sleeper top out.

Just have to figure what I want to run for a Frame. Original 3 speed, Diaz or Boyer.

I would skip the topper, it hides all of the hard work you have into that work of art that you call your dropped bed.
I do look forward to seeing this rig finished with or without a topper.

Go for a Diaz C channel frame. They look beautiful, the bruisers look great too but unless you have one already or really want to drop some coin I think the Diaz is a great alternative.

THat is going to be sweet! Are you going to do any sort of tubing? I think that would be cool to do a tube tire rack and or exo on that truck

The Cab is off of my Bruiser Project I have almost completed. As for the bed it came off of Ebay. It has 4 coats of paint and a grey primer that looked to be half wiped off and the drivers side of the sleeper cab was split.. To me it didn't matter because it was going to be cut up anyway.. I thought I would put the cab and the Bed together so everyone could see my second project.

As for the Topper, I think I agree with everyone cause the truck is going to have a functioning Diamond cut Tool box in the back and a partial tube bed probably something to hold the spare tire like a Prerunner.

The cab that I end up going with will probably have the doors cut half way down so when crawling you could actually see under the truck much easier.

WOW dude, this is going to be awesome. Definitely do not hide that amazingly scale bed... the topper is cool, but not for this one, to much time and work into the bed to hide it. Plus itll look alot cooler with a tool box and a bed mounted spare Id go with a Bruiser frame for sure, thats gonna give it the ultimate look with body. Ill be watching this one, I am obsessed with Deans rig so you can only imagine how I will feel about this one

Default Updated Pic of the Tailgate Latches

Well I finally got around to making the latches for the tailgate so they actually function to open and close to latche the tailgate shut.

Here is a pic with the tailgate latch open.

With the latch closed to show that it works like the real thing. OHHH Yea!

Then a pic of the inside of the bed styrene work finished. Just have left the molding to round out the harsh edges of my work.

I really like how the metal hinge latches and stays shut and doesn't flop open and unhook.
