Lid do-over has been done...no warping this time.

Made some headway on the interior also. The dash from Shapeways still needs more sanding and primer before it's ready for paint, but I like how it looks so far. Going to fab up some simple door panels, then the interior will be lookin good.

It looks like a home made tub is key mounting the interior pieces. Did you make it from styrene sheet and if so what thickness?

I bought a Power Wagon bumper from Shapeways. Unfortunately, they don't make one to fit the TF2 so I got the Axial version, cut and reworked the mounts to fit.

I'm not going to get super detailed with the interior, I just want it to look the part. I used .040 thickness with re-enforced joints.

I ordered the same bumper, but I'm going to use it as a template and try to make it out of metal.

Got some more done on the interior, although I don't have any worthy updated pics. I managed to get a simple tunnel made up and made some door panels. Got the tub mounting worked out. I'm hoping to get some more pics tomorrow.

Got the dash panel from Shapeways smoothed out and painted, just need to get the detail bits done. Also, painted the bed insert and laid in the wood slats. Mocked in the toolbox just see how it all looks...I like it! I'm gonna try to get the interior finished up and painted tomorrow after work, but for now...

I want to have the mirrors, but I'm not sure if these are something available in this scale. Has anyone seen them or have a source for them? I may have to fab them up, if not.

That's hilarious! I have a link to this picture on my desktop. It shows great detail. I'm going with a different color but basically want to reproduce a stock old truck with a leaf spring chassis.
Mine will never look this good but at least I'll get play with it.

That's crazy Rock Dodger! :lmao: ...I actually have it set as my desktop wallpaper, that way I can be inspired every time I open up my computer.

I also have the same image saved, not as my desktop though, since I just ordered the raw builders kit from Axial and the '46 body!

Seems like this is a popular image. I Googled through hundreds of pics before I settled on this one. IMO, it's the nicest representation of the body style, although it's listed as a '58.

1 problem I ran into is rear bumper.
Huge gap.

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4440-67076.jpg

yaa, I wanted something with rear steer. I may remove..

Also finding something that looks like stock wheels..

Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon

Well, that looks awesome! Rear steer...? Not really a fan but if it works for you, I say, keep it.

If you can find some 1/2" square tube or channel, you could make extensions for your chassis. Not sure if you need to drop down to the bumper height, if so, you might have to do some thinking and fab up a different way.

For the wheels, these hub caps are from Shapeways and made to fit Gmade bead lock rims. I'm not sure which rims, the metal or plastic bead locks??? Maybe someone has done them and will chime in. They could make it easy to do the 2-tone rims, the ones with a silver lip and matching body color center cap. "thumbsup"

Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon

The hubcaps look good and I just happen to have a set of the Gmade wheels. ;)

Fixed my bumper gap

Nice fix on the rear extension. Can't wait to see the hub caps on your rig.

I made some progress...after a few days working on it, off and on, I've accomplished something...swing-away mirrors. It took quite a bit of effort to get these looking right. I have some proper hex hardware coming for them, so I just mocked up one of them. This is all for now, wife gets me for the rest of the night.

Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon

WOW! ya got more detail in your mirrors than I'm gonna put in my whole rig.. :D

We'll see how those hubcaps look in 2 weeks or so..

I have 3D printed stock wheels in 1.55 for this truck. Jonathon Baskins from Powershift RC made them for me when i did my daughter's PW a couple years ago. They are glue ons, never been used.

Don't think I'll be able to build up to your level. "thumbsup"

I may pick up a few extra things tho.

I found in test fittings, 1.55s look smallish..(my biggest 1.55 tires)

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4440-67091.jpg

1.9s look big but tires look small..

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4440-67092.jpg

May look into 1.7s. Don't have any yet. ;)
I did start out just wanting something to use my 4wheel steer, Ground Hawg
tires and deepdish wheels,

Butt..
Still have a rear straight axle waiting in the wings..
