Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon Looking good! "thumbsup" |
Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon 1 Attachment(s) Nice weather over the weekend, gave me the motivation I needed to get some painting done. Still gotta add the details and fab a couple of small things, but I wanted to show it off. Sorry for the crappy pic...I'll get some better ones when it's done. "thumbsup" |
Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon Hi 58 Willys, I'm building a 46 PW also on my Element builders kit frame. I noticed that there are no body post. How did you mount the body? I'm still working on a way to mount without the post. Also, on the bed, did you 3D print a piece to fill the gap where you cut the body post mount bump? Thanks |
Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon Wow, great build. The details have a big impact on an immaculate build, well done sir!!! |

Right now I am using the rock rails to mount the body with some velcro while I figure it all out. This won't be the permanent solution though. |

Here's a couple of pics of the bed insert... |
Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon I love your work on this, one of my favorite PW builds so far. I was looking at the RC nerd products but for the price and finish I'm not sure. I picked up the light kit from Powershiftrc and I am in the process of painting the front light buckets then smoothing out. So far so good. I think I am going to work on the grill once I get the body mounting finalized. I have used magnets in the past, but always had a hard time between too strong and not strong enough. |
Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon The price is why I only selected a couple of items. I wanted to save a little time and energy in recreating the items like, the dash and gauges, cab side lights, shifter levers and front bumper with the winch. I'm going to finish the details tomorrow. |
Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon What is the best way to glue the rear fenders of the bed and cab together? Before or after paint? CA glue or E6000? Your build is giving me great ideas and inspiration. "thumbsup" |
Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon That’s easily the best scale representation of a power wagon interior I’ve ever seen. Great work sir |

Here's a couple of pics from today with a little nostalgic flair added in. Sorry for the bad color variance, the sun shine was just too much today. It really looks more like the pic of it on the bench. |
Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon An oldie but goodie. Very nicely done, looks flawless. |

Re: TF2 1946 Power Wagon Well done Willys, it's exceptional without question. It looks like just rolled off the Dodge assembly line in 1946!! |
