Awesome so far! I have the same chassis/body sitting on the shelf for a while now. I am having a hard time finding the right ride height... so, I am looking forward to see, what shocks you use! And thanks for the great idea with enlargening the holes on the chassis - I've got to do this!

Thanks guys. So far its coming together nicely. For shocks I'm using traxxas slash 2wd front shocks. The part number is 2660, they are the aluminum big bore shock. The springs are sold separately and the part number for that is 5860. I think other companies make springs for that shock also, but i just went with the stock one for now. As for the holes in the chassis for mounting the body i actually drilled and tapped them for m3 screws, it makes it much easier to pull the body on and off for mock up. More pics soon

The axles are in and one step closer to driving it! I slapped some stickers on the cooler to make it not so boring. That's it for tonight. |

So the truck is finally a runner! Everything is done except to paint the body, hopefully this weekend. But I have one major problem that somehow got overlooked during mock-up. I have really bad tire rub on the front bumper during articulation. So i have a couple of options. 1 space out the front bumper away from the tire, which will leave me with a large gap between the bumper and body. 2 trim the bumper where it contacts the tire, don't really like that either because its painted, wired, and looking good. 3 use shock spacers/bump stops to limit the suspension, that idea sucks also. 4 Just change to smaller tires, which i'm leaning towards. So here are my options i have at home and not have to buy new. The tires will mount on the original Locked up wheels. What do you guys think, Proline all terrains or old school rc4wd iroks Tire rub Proline tires have miles of clearance Rc4wd tires have about a 1/16 of clearance I can't decide |

This thing is wicked cool! Nice details in the interior! Your craftsmanship and ingenuity are 2nd to none. The Proline's would look awesome as scale tires but performance would be better with the IROC's. Just depends on the direction you want to go. Personally, with the IROC's, I would probably have done a combination of a small additional spacing on the bumper with the new tires...avoiding any limitations on the suspension or steering. I'm excited to see it with painted body back on it. Shelby Racing Blue would look awesome, but you probably already have something in mind. |

Update time! I decided on the Proline tires because i didn't have to mess with spacing the bumper and limiting the shocks. What a pain Proline tires are to mount. The bead is just slightly longer and fatter than most other brands, but they do look good. Next is the body. It's painted but i may go back and paint the hood or just the scoop flat black to break up the yellow. Also thought about blacking out the "FORD" on the grill. What do you guys think? Found some retro Ford Bronco stickers Some "sponsors" stickers Came out nice and shiny. So the truck was 99% finished Wednesday night around 11:30pm. I was leaving the next morning for Axial Fest Badlands at 5am. I almost gave up and said forget it since it was late and i was tired, but i powered through. I didn't even get a chance to drive it more than a couple of feet that night. So i decided it was good enough and it got tossed in for the ride down there. I got the truck tech inspected and entered in the concourse. I decided not to drive it since it was new and the Badlands was a mud fest from all the rain. Too busy having fun with my other trucks i brought. Here are some pics. This is the best and most shocking part, I ended up getting 1st place in my class I entered the truck in!!! And then, at the very end I got one last surprise, the truck won "best in show". I couldn't believe it. There were some really nice trucks there. And to think I was going to leave it at home. One more for fun. Now I need to drive it and have some fun. |

Very well done may I ask how you made the aluminum panels they are fantastic. They look like you used a robo drill and CNC break and shear. Very nice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I know its a little late, but wow! Very cool. I have one I started awhile back sitting buried waiting to be finished. Your build has inspired me to finish it. Have you had on the trails yet? How has it held up? |

| Re: Project Roughstock TFL Bronco. Mostly available from the Chinese websites. I got mine from Bangood. You can buy the complete kit, or you could dig around for the body and cage. Not a cheap endeavor. Even though I have yet to complete mine, I think the quality is pretty good. One thing that lets it down is the lack of adjustability, the shock mounts are welded to the frame. I have also seen a shock mount break. |
