Default My first Hardbody build...

It's kinda cheating I guess because this body came finished, but here it is...

It was built with parts I had collected over the months, and leftovers from other rigs.

It's a trx4 chassis, skid, and transmission, Injora body, Sendero/gatekeeper axles, gatekeeper panhard mount, club 5 racing links, Chanquish wheels with Pitbull growler tires, CI Dual stage foms, and LURC scale hardware, hot Racing front, and bangood rear driveshafts (I need to get a longer one of better quality for the rear), Assciated shocks, a sidewinder 3 esc, and a Team Brood 20 turn motor.

There's still some work to do. I need to figure out a permanent battery holder. Right now the battery sits on a servo mount that is zip tied in.

I have a shorter front bumper coming because the front tires hit this one at full lock.

I made the inner fenders (I still need to make one more) from Lunchmeat containers, and I need to paint them.

And I want to get some more lights on it.

Overall, I like the way it turned out. What do y'all think?

Looks great! The more I see these bodies, the more I want to get one! Nice color too!

Thanks...

The body actually is pretty nice. I bought it during the black friday shopping deals on amazon for 80 bucks I think it was. I need to mask it off and paint the inside of it black so it looks more realistic.

I hinged the back side to the frame with some 1.5x1.5" little brackets I found at Lowes. I made a small L shaped bracket for the front, with a hole through the bumper mount and a wide head screw that holds the front of the body down.

I do need to figure out a way to secure the doors better. If it pops down hard, one door or the other will pop open. I'll probably just put a small glob of fun-tac in the door jam to hold it shut better.

I agree, this build really shows off that body - excellent job!

It'd be nice if they (Injora) got them in their US warehouse, but they aren't very expensive - depending on color they run $58.99-$68.99...

Looks pretty slick! Building one myself with the same body in olive color...

You may find a big lack of gear reduction with the trx4 trans and regular non portal axles...

I experimented with this years ago and was just way too fast, not enough gearing too crawl well

I dropped the pinion down by three teeth and that seemed to be enough...

As you can see by the sliders, I have had it out once and it actually performed pretty well. I can also go from 39t on the TRX4 sport spur, up to 45 for the trx4 two speed transmission.

Looks great, do you know how heavy the body is and what wheel base are you at?

The build is looking good! If I didn’t have 2 OG NB 4 door bodies on hand I would have started with this body. What’s your next move on the build?
