I almost passed on the RPRC chassis, but I liked the accessories it came with. I didn't have a Hardline bed in my fleet. Looking forward to building this.

I do and did like orange. The Tamiya Pure Orange is a great color. I used that orange and the bright gun metal on quite a few rigs in the past. Orange has always been a fav color of mine.

Thanks on the Ecto. I believe everyone should have at least one or two Element RC's in their stable! It's hard to beat the Element rigs for their buildability and price.

The Rock Pirate RC chassis arrived today from @Fricker08. She’s a little rough as is, but it’ll be getting a makeover soon.

You’re welcome! I would like an Element kit, but center mounted transmissions are so last decade. I prefer everything about front motor chassis.

That guy seems super sponsored so I take what he says with a grain of salt. Great crawling terrain though!

The RPRC stuff is really nice. What I like is that they (RPRC) also post great videos of them out on the rocks and also product vids showing how to install. If you haven't checked out their YouTube page, I do recommend.

Thanks for following along. Be on the lookout for a new build thread in the future.

I watch West Desert Wheeler for them spectacular Utah red rocks. Someday in my dreams I'd like to pack up my rigs and head out west!

I'm sure if I would have waited, then I'd be kicking my own butt for not jumpin' on it!

Not to get too far off-topic on a relatively insignificant matter, imo wdw is one of the most transparent in the rc crawling YouTube world. He definitely gets support from some companies, but a big part of his videos is that he drives stuff constantly. Lots of video creators out there getting their free trucks, driving just enough to make one video and then never again.

I haven’t tried any rock pirates stuff myself, but I look forward to seeing what you do with that chassis Brian

I do like how Logan does his play-by-play commentary while rock crawling. His camera angle and slow crawling is what makes these vids good.

Thanks for following along Tom. I started out with the Rock Pirates RC shock towers on one of my rigs. They add a great look and provide multiple shock mounting positions. My addiction to their products spiraled out of control after that!

Agreed, like many on YT though but I do like his feedback on his rigs and lines he's taking ... and them red rocks for sure

Thanks to @smog for his latest build, he has inspired me to tackle a project that I've been wanting to complete for over a year now.

So I believe it was last year sometime, I made a jig to silver solder a set of bumpers for my VP Rock Pirates RC Interceptor portal build.

Today was the day that I finally tacked this project head-on and got'er done! Looking back on how easy this really was, I wish I would have finished this sooner.

Not so sure on you learning a new trade. I've seen your metal working artistry on your 6x6. You already have the trade mastered!

Thanks Jim. Something I threw together quickly and it works pretty good. Even adjustable for different widths.

Nice! The jig is a great idea. Always a bonus when the bumper is straight
