Maybe I'll get a Disruptor Planetary Transmission to avoid having to cut the front to bits in order to get an Axial tranny to fit?

Im a big RC4wd fan but do not recommend the disruptor. I ran one in my trail yota and hated it. It is geared very sluggish and I broke an output shaft after a few runs. Rc4wd did send a rebuild kit but still would stay away.

The disruptor really isn't really a bad trans case, I like the internal gears much better than the current Killer T case. The big issue is the Disruptor is not 1:1, but is like that for clearance inside interiors. I actually prefer a Generis T case personally. On a side note I have to make a correction. I stated the Axial Transmission as being 16:1 Its in fact 2.6:1 My apologies. |

man with all the owners, and have issues. I should buy it back and build it the way I had it so can show how I had it set up. worked great for me. well forget that the body must wieght a ton with three diferent paint jobs. |

| Re: bmuzz1's Take on the WIDOWMAKER Jk Numero Quatro You were running a gd600, disruptor t case and Lodi axles if I'm not mistaken? I've never owned losi axles so not sure about the gearing compared to the Axials. Should be good with the new t case I have coming and maybe an Axial tranny or plane terry trams.

used the losi axles to gear it down a bit. I made a t-case out of part of a tamiya three speed tranns, and used part of a ped tranny, used gears from that for under the hood. If i remember I used a sidewinder or a mamba max, (not sure anymore been so long ago, and alot of builds later) with a orion 21x2 turn pro mod motor on 3cell. the wheel speed was about what I like, not to super fast, and had good slow throttle response. then for the shocks I used some stainless steel tubing, with internal springs 8 in all, and tiged some shafts for them as well to get the leanth I needed. so the shocks were a custom length deal for the frame. for the springs I went to the hardwaer store for different spring rates and adjusted them out until I liked how it worked. took some time after I got it dialed in for the rig to work, but wored better than any I did before it. the jk was a really good learning tool to help me configure other custom builds after this one as well.

Well if you blow up the RC4WD you could try a Bane.. BaneBots Robot Parts: P60 Gearbox: Stock, Standard Shaft, RS-540/550 Mount, 16:1 , that's what's in the 6x6. and you should have called, I have a Disruptor hanging on the wall, you could have test fitted it.. | |

You could do one of these in front of the GD600? 4:1 Ultra Compact Gear Reduction Unit for 540 Motor Truthfully though, I'd go to a axial trans with a GCM transfer case. I know it would be a PITA but those GD600's never seem to hold up unless they have some serious gear reduction behind them to protect that plastic spur. |

Your rig is looking awesome! I think you will be a happy camper with the axial trans. I'm think of painting the cage on my rig gun metal with a blue body. I googled tuff trucks w/ exo cage (click: images) to get ideas. Keep up the great work and lets see some pics of the mount you brazed in today!!!

Here's a pic of the tranny mount I fabbed up for use with the Axial tranny for those interested. I've still got some cleaning to do before the new paint. In this pic you can see the T-case mount I fabbed up. And here are the very cool badges that John/MTHead made up for me for this build. |
