| Willy's truggy build
Well after Tuff Truck I have had an idea Good or bad .... I want to build some thing a little differant, well not so common... I Really fell for the Team Anabolic willy's truggy and has gave me an itch to build one similar....... I bought some Integy portals from Tiny Tuff Stuff while I was there at the event and this was were it started to itch ... Thanks Jamie and Benno.... . I had a pair of axial diffs in the shed with alloy C hubs and a tranny also. I then purchased some metal rod ends, vanquish wheels and some proline super swampers 2.2. I have made some progress over the last couple of days, made a 3 link mount for the front and 4 link on the rear as the Team Anabolic has and am pretty happy so far.... Here is some pics This is my insperation I will be doing the tube work next and am thinking of making the panels from light aluminium so they will dent..... . I have some HR shocks coming and hope to have them next week along with some other gear. Iam not sure what radio to use yet....??? Cant wait to have a 4WS rig again as I haven't had one for a few years. I want to also run 2x winches just like the real deal.... Cheers Warren kenworthit ... |

Put some more time into the willys truggy yesty, Shes starting to take shape .... I drilled some holes into the panard rod mount, makes it look better now Changed the rear link mount to get a little more clearence off the rear steer servo. mounted the servo and mounting the rear winch... Happy with were the servo sits everything runs straight just need to use a bigger spacer on the steering arm to level it up more .once the panels are on you will only see 1/4 of the servo... The cage, I am building this free hand with no plans, just off some action shots I got at tuff truck but am pretty happy with it so far. I think once the panel go on it will look a whole lot better.. I hope to do some more this arvo ... |

Mounted the front steering servo this arvo and finished of the link arms and mounts.... I made this bracket to get the drag link on the back side of the diff to keep the servo out of site behind the grille... Fitted front arm is up nice and high out of harms way .... Top veiw...it pretty hectic but works awesome so far .... I was unhappy with the length of the cabin so I cut 1 inch off the top and middle bars and moved it all back the inch . Much happier now and the bonnet length will be more suitable .... Cheers |

Steaming along now.... I've got most of the cage work done and alloy panels made, which were quiet easy as they are nearly all flat .... and the new grille cut. Here is the new grille I took my drawings and went and seen a mate with a jet cut and got a few made . If anyone would like one inbox me and well work it out. It is 3mm alloy and I think looks great ... Some panels Now with some axles under it .... I was hoping to use internal springs in the shocks they are HR 123mm shocks. They came with 2 stage springs so I will use these if I cant get some good internal springs... Cheers |

Ace hardware actually has some really descent springs that are about the same rate and diameter as the TCS internal springs. Also kn the portals, I have never played with them but could it be possible to just replace the gears with pinions, you know they hold up. I assume the integy portal cases are good just the gears are usually too hard from integy and they break. Sent from my DROID BIONIC |

I got stuck into the build again this arvo and biult the gearbox, put the robinson hardened gears in and used a alloy vanquish case. I also made some racing seats and a windscreen. After much STRESS I have finally sorted out the electrics and am very happy as they are working a treat now with no glitching....... Here are some pics...... My racing seat I made Then the wind shield... I used some clear styrene for the screen The neat little box I got from Jay Car to hide and protect all the electronics. I have another for a fuel cell in the back which will hold all the lights wiring and battery to run them, also the battery will run the wiches with a toggle switch to go from front winch to rear . Thanks again guys and will hope to do a little more tomorrow after I pay my respects ...... Warren |

Getting close now ..... I got the sliders done, fitted the seats, fitted the rear electrics box for winch, light etc, made a loom and fitted the main electrics into the box and made a wiring loom. I then sand blasted it all and sent it to the paint shed...... SLIDERS SEATS FITTED WIRING LOOM AND BOX REAR ELECT BOX PAINT SHED CHEERS |
