Yes I threw a few layers of paint on it. On the final wet coat my 2 year old in a attempt to grab the shiny pulled the newspapers that it was lying on out till it hit the floor. The paint was messed up badly from the carpet....not to mention the carpet. The pains of not having a garage of your own.

Anyway it has sat since I sanded it back down. When it warms a bit more I will paint it again.

Thanks.

I'm still looking for the other half of an MIP that my "helper" placed somewhere in my shop. There's a lot of places to hide a driveshaft! I'm sure I'll find it in a few months in a pile of legos!

I don't know how I missed this build. Slow or not, I really like the builds with the unique bodies you don't see everyday.

Thanks I do as well. That's where my collection is evolving to. Unfortunately I have serious ADD with RCs. I have it already but with Scale crawlers it's outta control.

I want this on done as well I was just looking at it today and taking measurements for DoubleJ. I think he is thinking of doing one.

Thanks for you kind words guys.

Okay so here is the deal. Lots of people have asked....what's up with this build?

Well first I painted it and it had a fantastic coat on it after several layers or primer sanded smooth on each layer. Literally spent a week on the build up.

When I layed the final wet coat, I set up to dry. Then my beautiful 2 year old bless her little innocent heart saw shiny, climbed up on the chair at my work station and yanked the body down for a better look....tacky as hell still. Landed on the ground and just devastated it.

Then I moved and it fell of a tall shelf and broke the windshield frame apart. Yeah I haven't even ran the damn thing and I broke that piece again. For credit it was about 7ft up on a shelf in my storage shed and when moving a mattress it shifted and took a plunge straight to the raw concrete. I was pissed to say the least....enter expletives.

So have you ever had a rig you felt was cursed? Lol

Anyway today I started sanding away on her and really got into that windshield area that I thought I built strong. Here is a progress pic.

Every time I sand into his beast of a body it lets off some very strange odor! I have no idea what glue/adhesives/bondo Young Colby used but when I smell it reminds me how much I'm starting to loath his body!

I am to have the body done this weekend.

Oh yes it will get done!

Damn man! Sounds like some unfortunate events! Glad to see youre back at it! When you finally get tired of it name the price and ill find a way to pay it. This will always be one of my most favorite rigs that i ever had a hand in building. I hope you run it at northwest, especially in the TTC. It would do the real one justice for sure!

Thanks guys! Yeah well when you have to redo something it always tends to get better the second time around. It's built stout now. Plus I'm adding glass this time with the center bar.

It's been curing. I have found that the green top Tamiya plastic weld is quite good. Doesn't evaporate on contact, more working time, and welds deeper with curing. Takes longer but it really melts it together. I
Like it. It doesn't make things as fast as the tenax7 or proweld but welds deeper.

Just a FYI. And use LOTS of clips.

I like the Halloween effect!!!

I know...it's not funny at all. I hate painting with a passion. The more careful I am, the worse my paint turns out. Grab a can and do a test shot on a yogurt container without any prep...and it turns out perfect.

No advice here...just suffering with you.

Thanks gentleman, I spent days getting the body and as close to perfect as I could, just to rush the paint...the under layer was not completely cured before wet. Ugh. Sucks.
