| Project TTC Class 3: PJ Hale's 1948 Willys
So I I've credit where credit is due. This is Colby's rig and tube work is amazing....done by ScaleReady. Please check out Colby's start and more pics of PJs rig PJ Hale's 2010 TTC 1948 Willy's I got talking to Colby one day and he said he was ready to start a new project, and I could help but take this project on. Basically I bought the chassis and one hammered Willys body. The body is definitely salvageable and I plan to put some love into it. I just need a specific bag of styrene and I will complete it. So please don't judge these humble beginnings, I started the mock up and fizzled out quick. I'm tired. So I thought I would just start with the beginning. This will be one big bitch of a rig. Here is a part list. Mamba Max Pro Tekin Pro 4 3300kv Brushless motor Here's the skinny on the axles....all x2 RC4WD Wraith axles RC4WD aluminum C hubs RC4WD 4 link truss ARB diff covers STRC aluminum shock mount HR steel diff lockers Axial universals front and back VP wraith steering hubs front and back VP steering links= 4WS Put together with brand new bearings and Lucas red & tacky grease. Scale Ready custom chassis, incredibly nice work! Gear head Slot Mags 2.2 RC4WD 2.2 Iroks GCM Transfer All steel internal axial tranny MIP driveshafts Gmade resovior adjustable shocks That's what I can think of. Here is the project start pics... This one has been thrown on the back burner, due to my getting the class 1 ready for our local comps. I was getting pissed at the links anyhow. I had configuring links on wraith axled rigs. I get back to this rig soon. |

Well still have no oxygen in my tank so I thought I would work on some body refurb. I love doing this kinda thing. Colby wasn't really giving himself credit but I think he built up some really nice lines on this body now I'm just following his lead with some added strength. Also a pic of my little helper. |

Thanks guys getting more and more excited on this build. Put some more love into the 3d effect of the grill. I know that this is the most important part of this build to make the body "look right" |

Very cool The little details are what make it. Like the little point on the hood. I wish my ADD would let me keep a rig long enough to do that kind of stuff EDIT: Shoot me a text if you still have my digits |

thanks the "crown" at the top of the bars was a pita to get right. I managed to get it made with all styrene and no filler but it took a lot of soft sanding. I was really afraid of over sanding it. I am pleased with the results.
