R2j Kustoms "T-Dog the SuperZuk" Well had the opportunity to pick up one of Kaetwo's early chassis from a local guy last week, Thanks Dan! Kaetwo's Trail Dog First priority was to get the AR60's mocked up under it since it was SCX based. I started with the stock Wraith links for a base point, then reworked until I ended up with a wheel base I was happy with. As it sits now the wheel base is just shy of 13". For the front I went with Honcho 3/16" SS rears with Jato ends on one side and Revo on the other for the lowers. Uppers are Wraith straight 3/16" SS lowers with Jato and Revos like the lower links. Rear uses 1/4" SS Honcho rears with Revo ends and the uppers will be Wraith straight 3/16" SS lowers with Revo ends. The rear of the chassis will see most of the changes. It will get a truggy back half and shortened a bit. Other changes will include reworking the door tubes, roof support cross bars and possibly putting the straight bar back in at the windshield frame, not sure if I like the "angry eye" look on this one. It was modded when it first come to CO along with the Summit trans that used to be in it. Parts list: -Modded R1 axles with 4WS -Axial trans with Robinson goodies -SCX10 shocks -MIP drive shafts -Wheels.....................something new coming soon! -PL TSL's G8 -Savox steering servos front & rear with custom CMS -R2j Kustoms Stainless links -Holmes 20t hand wound -Castle Mamba Max...old school -Castle BEC -Servo winch -2200 3c lipo Before & Mock up pics.... More to come! Last edited by R2j; 10-09-2012 at 10:30 AM. Reason: made changes to the build

Re: *Rebuild of Kaetwo's "Trail Dog" R2j style* Started cutting "T Dog" up....shorten it about an 1.25" - 1.50" and bent the down tubes in front of the shock mount. Before After Before After Didn't quite know how I felt about the change, but now seeing the pictures together for comparison, I like it. Now to get the truggy section done and then it really should look right.

I like the change. The hood looks odd on there though.

| Re: *Rebuild of Kaetwo's "Trail Dog" R2j style* Thanks! I thought about and even looked at some other hoods, but to me it wouldn't be the same without the Trail Ranger hood..."T-Dog"......Sami look-a-like. I'm going to have fun finding another body, but for now I'll just strip the blue paint off and reuse it. It's in pretty good shape yet. Then I'll make some metal doors/panels. | Re: *Rebuild of Kaetwo's "Trail Dog" R2j style* Got some more done in between other projects. It's coming along nicely. Undecided on what to do with the front window bar. I cut out the angry eyes and put a straight bar back in but I'm not feeling it. |

Why dont you like the angry bar and the straight bar? Is it how it effects the roof or just the bar itself?

Re: *Rebuild of Kaetwo's "Trail Dog" R2j style* I not really sure, but neither was doing anything for me. I build by feeling mostly and how I see things. But I think I worked it out now......I'll have pics up a little later

Re: *Rebuild of Kaetwo's "Trail Dog" R2j style* Decided on what to do with the roof. Cut out all the old and then replaced it with some DOM tubing to keep some weight off. Just tacked it up for now, in case I change my mind I don't think I will.....I like it now.
