Default Klampyz Wraith turned F350

OK. here it is!! lol... yea.. like its that grand..

Long ago, in a place not so far away, a friend of mine bought a wraith.

he wanted me to modify it into a better crawler. so i fitted an extra tranny for gear reduction, and adjusted a few things.

pics tell many words.

from here> i bought it. it changed dramatically into a bare essentials basher.

it broke a few times, so i did what needed to be done to fix it and it looked like this for a couple of packs, before the lipo went in.

and then i turned the rear shaft into licorice.

so i did.

i modified the links and mounts to accept the AR60 axles and here we have a mock up of the flexibility

and now actually standing on its own springs, flexxed up.

and ive decided to go all heavy metal on it, and do a full sheet steel floor, which will become attatched to a full four point roll cage, and that will continue forwards into the engine bay, around the bumper, and arches, and down the sides.

as far as brand, im not sure. but based on the phone, this pic will give an idea for how long ive had it, and what it looked like originally, and the size scale.

I'm getting hot on a large scale build myself. I'll be following all these too. It looks like that thing is going to way about 50 lbs by the time you're done with it! Keep up the progress and post lots of pictures.

more metal. these come from Cappu engineering. an ebay store. thinking about getting their CVD shafts as well... not sure about the strength of them tho. its either them, or the new RC4wd HD CVD shafts... just feel that $100 is alot for what they are...

i dont even want to think how much money is currently in my parts bins.... lol but heres the Cappu CVDs

Very nice build so far. Those are the same as Top Cad or Integy.

the very first time i saw the wraith i knew it would be the perfect donor for the larger scale trucks. i reckon the 2.8 rims would be "it" as far as ultimate scale goes with rims/tires. but im happy with the steelies for now.

thanks for the kind words FORD

ive got much more planned for the cage yet, so if you like it so far, youll like what ive got planned.

I've been mocking up my parts and got some shipments. I won't post up for a while until I have some progress, but damned am I excited. I've bitched about wraith axles, until now. a big body, big tires and a wraith width are going to make for a killer set of builds...few...but interesting!

more metal work. its not 100% but its close enough, and for the condition of the welder, im pretty happy with the way its welding. (gasless MIG)

Inside

roof off

current stance. its too high, but its still got more weight to gain yet. lol

I'm no expert on dual motor setups, but I think there are updated versions of what you're going for available more easily. The other option is a serious high torque motor on a bomb proof transmission with a lot of power...3s, 4s...even up to 6s. Check out Crawler innovations.
Here is just one link...look around the site, I'm sure they have more to offer.
http://www.crawlerinnovations.com/in...mart&Itemid=80

They have some stuff for serious power. If they can build for go fast power, it will certainly work for sale heavy duty setups. Let me know where you end up.

Here's what came to mind originally for you...emaxx tranny with a dual motor setup....remember...google everything and see what you get!

That's all I've got!

thanks for that link, but yes ive searched and yep, found that thread.

i had a look on ebay but couldnt find one i was prepared to pay for. iv already ordered the dual motor plate for the axial transmission, but i had seen the RC4wd V2 transmission before, but hadnt been able to find a listing on the site. which is then when i googled it, and discovered they have been discontinued since 2009. :(

i was hoping for the heavyweight factor more than anything else.and the fact that it would fill the engine bay very nicely. perhaps ill just wait till i get my axial dual motor plate and see how i can lay it all out in the bay.

ill go start a WTB thread too, see if i can get a V2 2nd hand or something...
