That rig looks amazing. Looks like tons of fun to build too. what did you use to make the rear tube chassis? Id like to build something similar for my jeep.

Well since the jk is 1/8 th scale I used 1/4 inch brake tube and that sized out to 2 inch tubing and it just looked right for this build .I used some 3/16 brake tubing for the cross support and in the front bumper . I have more pics to upload on it tonight after work so stay tuned it doesnt look so great yet but as it sits atm but I have painted it up and putting electonics in it it looks pretty killer |

Slapped some electronics in and tested the servo. It feels rough like a tiny little grenade went off in there . Lets pull it apart and see whats going on I have a couple of these servos and had bought a rebuild kit but never used it which is good cause i need it now . rebuilt it and greased it and re installed it in the truck |

Sooooo forgot to take pictures of the painting but you all know how it works so painted the JK black ........ i know i know been done before right well i used tamiya Nato black and it looks a bit different than the cap but thats probably cause i used a grey primer so its black with a dark green tinge also popped the interior back in and started the tail lights and head light buckets getting them wired in . |

Nice lookin jk you have there I flipped back and forth from 1.9 pits and 2.2 tsl and I liked the tsl's better only because when I was younger a lot of my friends built land cruisers and jeeps. On 44 inch boggers there was a whole group of them .you see on some builds guys showing the aqualu aluminium tubs .they are based my home town in kelowna Bc canada and there was one truck I loved so much it was a fj45 with a tiny little box on 44 boggers. it sat pretty low and had king coil overs in it. Thing went like a raped ape and it had a little tube work in the rear and thats sort of how I came to building what I did .mine was supposed to be exo caged over the cap and hood but silly me got rambunctious with a hack saw and cut the frame , literally I thought of the next step which was to set up tabs to bolt the cage to. Lol and I cut them kinda close to the cab so just started fabbin after that . I did make some templates up on graph paper of the shap and width and used those to fab the rear section up .was fun to build and now my wife wants me to build her one finally she comes around lol

Well I had had my front curry axle apart 4 or 5 times I am having a binding issue and when it binds the knuckles tighten up and bind as well . I checked the locker thinking maybe it was not aligned straight when I put it together or my hardened ring and pinion was binding . So pulled the vp shafts and knuckles and spun the gear set over and there was no binding so I took a look at these new vp cvd's and found that both shafts close to were they go into the locker have a slight wobble . So I loosened the carrier and left it loose and installed the shafts and knuckles again and when I spun the shafts over you can see the carrier wobble back and forth . I guess I will be taking these back to my lhs for new ones

Its just weird there is one spot when you turn them over till you hit that tight spot and the knuckles get tight and dont turn very easily then a 1/4 turn of the pinion and they flop around.I had issues with the rear curry axle as well once I put the c clips in the ring and pin was so tight hard to turn over and that was with axial shafts.how I fixed it was there is a tiny bit of play in the 4 link truss holes so I pulled the tubes out as far as the hole would allow and re tightened them and then tightened the set screws back up and that seemed to help a lot but the front is aggravating. Me I have spent the last 2 nights working on them . Lol just want to get them mounted so I can continue on the build .my lhs said they would take these ones back and give .me anofher set but im worried they will do the same thing as these ones , guess I will have to try it
