| Scott's Class Three ToyZuki build with Wraith Axles
I picked up a wraith in parts a few months ago and assembled it. See build thread here: Scott's Wraith Build It was fun to mess around with, but it's not something I could ever see myself driving. I traded for a full ToyZuki set up with the plans of building a wraith axled ToyZuki. But then things came up and the wraith sat on the shelf and the chassis on the workbench. Finally got around to actually starting the build this past weekend. Current state of the wraith before the tear down: What happens when Jokerswild comes over and we work on toy trucks, they all end up on their sides: Toyzuki set up waiting for wraith axles: First order of business, front axle coming off: Only part's I'll be using from the wraith: I'll be converting the rear axle to unis, knuckles and c-hubs for 4WS, those parts are somewhere in a bag Since I'm using the Toyzuki forward motor mount, I'll be running a 3-link with panhard bar in the front. The wraith was running a 4-link, so I need to remove one link: I'll be using a VP panhard bar mount on the axle: Since I'm using wraith axles and the diff is on the drivers side left, I will be switching the motor over to the passenger side. As it currently sits: Disassembled: Flipping the motor plate: Screws installed: Back installed on the truck with the motor now on the passenger side: Since the motor is being flipped, I'll also need to flip the skid and transfer case to the other side of the chassis. That means flipping the input shaft of the transfer case to the other side. How it was: Input shaft flipped: Installed on the skid, ready to go back on the chassis: I'm using VP incision links, to get the right length for the lowers, I added Jato rod ends to one side of the links. I chose the skid side as I had the links already attached at the axle: Started to get the front assembled: Needs some minor tweaking to get the links to clear the frame rails, I'll hopefully get to that tonight. |

Nice, looks good but why wouldn't you just flip the the pumpkin to be on passager side so you wouldn't have to change anything

| Re: Scott's Class Three ToyZuki build with Wraith Axles Primarily because I'll be running a panhard set up and I'm not sure how the panhard mount/bar would work right next to the pumpkin like that. It's something I could definitely investigate though.

Like a wrocho, wouldn't you need to widen the frame rails for the links to clear? I'm interested to see how you do this. I just picked up a g10 setup complete and have some wraith axles sitting on the bench too. Following. |

Whew thank god. I actually thought you were gonna build a wraith. Now this makes sense but if this is going to be your class 3 what are you gonna do with that beautiful truck you run now??????????

I'll put it on the shelf so no one else can win with it :flip off: Nah, I'll still be driving Short Fuse in Class three. I just wanted to try my hand at a Toyzuki setup with Wraith axles. Depending on how it goes I may point it all the way out. I'll probably just let Justin borrow it because he's so slow at building. Spend a little time working on this tonight. First step was to put the links on the inside of the mounts like so to eliminate clearance issues: (I'd probably just run straight links but part of the purpose of this was to see/show that it could be done with VP wraith links) I really didn't feel like making a pan hard bar, so I dug this bar out of my link box: Surprisingly pretty close to what it actually needs to be. Slight issue with in boarding the links like I did is the MIP driveline touch the link: Said what the hell, lets flip the MIP shaft: Close, but doesn't rub. I'm happy with the flex on both sides and the compression. I have one other thing I want to try with VP wraith links for clearance. I'll try to get to that tomorrow. I also want to try flipping the whole axle as I think the VP pan hard mount might actually work with the pumpkin on the passenger side.

I love they whys........... keeping the drop on the drivers is the best function. I ran a modified "wroncho " set up in my class 3 for over 5 years........ as for the skid....... really ain't a wroncho with a wraith skid...... also is pretty lame with wide skid on it. Hahahaha........ justin....... slow |

Looking really good did you use the incision links? And I'm pretty sure it's going to work flipping the axle and it will look scale with the body your running

Thanks, yup they're the Incision links, the VP TI links would be even better as they would have more clearance being 3/16".

Just to revive an old thread instead of starting a new one. How did the wraith axles work out on the Toyzuki? Thinking about doing the same setup

| Re: Scott's Class Three ToyZuki build with Wraith Axles They work well, but Toyzuki just recently released a chassis specifically for wraith axles which I would recommend if you don't already have the chassis.
