Not sure what specifically OP used, but McMaster-Carr probably has something that will work. https://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-rod-ends/=16iil87

Yeah. From the McMaster site, looks like the heavy duty rod linkage without grease zerk about halfway down the page is what I had. The rod end with the open ball instead of the stud may work better for some applications but the rod end linkage with the stud made the bottom of the truck smoother in my case.

Started this morning turning the highlift shocks down a little mostly to shave off the red and rough up the surface for paint.

I also pulled the axles back off and hit them with primer

I got it back together and I'm loving it. It's so cool seeing it coming together

Got my timing belt in Saturday's mail.
So I started fabbing brackets. This is how I weld while being too lazy to disassemble the plastic parts. Little hole in the lid of the water bottle.

This is looking awesome!

Left on the list.
Dash, roof, servo mount.

Gotta get the servo mount done first, finger space is tight.

Thanks!
Yesterday I was trying to weld the music wire to the cage for the fabric roof support

Problems with the heat affected zone being brittle meant any time it gets bumped the welds break.
That's no good.
So today I popped off the wire, did a little grinding and welded nuts to the cage

This let me use two pieces of music wire to make the loop without any brittle spots

I also got some pre-wired 10mm LED's in red and white, but I didn't realize they were 12mm tall.
No biggie, chucked them up in the lathe and turned them down.

Not the original square lights, but they'll work ok

Well there were no easy ways around it. So I cut the grill off to get to the servo so I could make mounts.
I cut and bent some sheet metal, then welded some M3 nuts to it

After getting both sides done I bolted the servo on

I ended up welding the servo mounts in place while bolted to the servo then hosing them with my squirt bottle to keep from burning the servo.

Next I welded bolts to the end of the frame pieces and drilled holes in the grill to bolt it back on so I can get to the servo in the future.

Ok, so I got some shifters made, put in some carpet and got a dash cut out but not installed

I also masked off everything and gave the cage a fresh coat of black.
Then I got my lights wired up.

I drug it home and ran it around a bit. She wheels pretty good for a 10.5 lb rig.

Got my dash and wheel in a week ago, and got to run a full pack through it yesterday

Elvis brought over his CrossRC military for its maiden voyage too.
