Default Rjohns Mantis

Quick post with more to come! Picked this up off of CM9000, it's a EmeryworX Mantis chassis. I have a set of Wraith axles mounted up that include FI spools, UD rear, Vanquish claiming chubs/scale knuckles, a pair of Holmes SHV500, Velvet shocks in full droop, beef tubes and patties and Proline rubber/ dual stage foam on China wide methods. Width it right at 11 7/8 and wheelbase is 13.5. I have some more drivetrain stuff on the way. It's going to be a tight fit while getting an interior in there!

I forgot to mention it's going to run Mamba X and PP 2200 stubby. This will be my first rig run on my new DX6r. Awesome radio by the way, love the thought of being able to play music while I run without needing anything else.

It's definitely bigger then I thought it was going to be. Hopefully I can make some driveshafts work, the angle is going to be a challenge I think.

I was going to run a lnc trans and a high turn sensored motor. I even had the thought of using a 85t lathe motor. cause the lnc trans is so small, it would fit and you could still throw interior in it. that's why I bought 2 sets of ud gears and a set of stock to try out.

this chassis was supposed to mimic the mishka chassis. but I think it ended up being a bit bigger. put that servo winch mount to use!

LNC trans should be here today. I also pick up a carrier bearing in case I have to run a dog bone to extend an output. That's plate is really long.

I think I've got it later out how I want it. I ordered some 1/16" acetal to make a skid plate because I do t the steel plate will slide all that great. That will also give me somewhere to countersink some screws. I was think of brazing some brackets on the top to mount everything topside but I think this will be easier in the end for rebuilding.

take a measurement from the trans outputs to the pinions on the axles. a tlr 22t rear shaft may fit with the lnc axle outputs. kinda frakenstiened but.. may work. and also, regular driveshafts should work too.

I got it all together with some mips I had floating around. Seems to be just right. I braze some tabs on for a radiator and fuel cell and started on something for the interior. It's going to have to be modular since the cage is solid and I can only get it through the openings.

I think I'm going to run some rock lights and a single rear red light. I have stuff in order and will post up some picks when I get a little further. I switched out the Mamba X for a MMP with no case to save some space and make wiring a little easier.

a alum seat could fit in there no problem. id make a bracket to put the seat on so you could pressure fit a battery under the seat.

and if breakovers become stubborn, use a cut spring on the back shocks for enough "bump" I know that flat skid might be a pita...

Lol. That's exactly what I'm doing. Aluminum seat and all. The break over doesn't see like it's going to be too bad actually even with the huge skid.

That's true but with the droop suspension and the shorter links tightening up the wheelbase when they drop out so it's better then I thought it would be. I hope I don't sound like I'm saying it's good lol. It's just not as bad I thought it was going to be.

Quick update with some interior work. I'm going to change the color to orange so don't mind the blue.
