I swapped in a 20 tooth pinion and took it out for a run today. What a blast to drive. If you can't crawl it nail the throttle and it will go up.

Exactly. With enough wheel speed or momentum they climb like hell.

How does yours jump with having most of your weight unsprung?

It's no stadium truck for sure But its not to bad. The cool thing is with the 35 turn I can still crawl realy good, and it has a ton of punch. Braap the throttle and it is instant full speed.

I may throw in something a little more potent later but for now I realy like it.

Try moving your battery to the right side of the tranny and install a HolmesHobbies 7T Cobalt Puller motor.

Its been said that I should put in a novak 3.5....

I tried putting a 5.5 in one of my tlt axled crawlers and a wk crawler. When I hit the gas on the tlt I instantly broke 3 inner shafts. The wk faired a bit better only breaking 1 inner and 1 outer after a couple mins. of play:-(

I'm trying to shed the reputation I have for overkill in the motor area.

There's over kill, and there's using the right combo for the task. I don't think either of those Novak setups are right for a crawling application.

I am limited on space in the endbell section with the chassis. Are the pullers any longer than a standard 540?

They are made by a guy in our club and are sold in the club first and if there are and left over he will sell them to other people. He gets $135.00 a set and they are by far the best wheels I have ever used.

Here is a link to his sell threed you can ask if he will sell you some.

I cut down two female ends so that I will have a good gap between them and then I glue and pin the male in one. I have done this for years and they have never let me down. All of my crawlers are done this way.

Does that prevent this from happening?

You don't need a brushless motor to do that to Pede shafts or Jato ones as well. And there is nothing wrong with a little twist in your shaft.
