| EP's ECC Reign RC Scwhorepion
So what seems like the cool thing to do, I'm going to the East Coast Championships with a new truck. I'd been running a tweaked Axial Scorpion. It drove well, and that made it easy to drive it well. Then I had the opportunity to try a new chassis out, a beta tester for Reign RC. So like any competitor shouldn't do, I changed the truck before a big event. I took a week to get this thing how like it. You know how you develop a confidence in what your truck can do? Where I would doubt the old truck a little sometimes, this one pulled off some new moves. Good. Axial battery tray and servo mount up front with a MaxAmps 1100 2 cell Lipo and Airtronics 361. Axial red springs and a TCS Boomerang rear upper link mount. MSD wheels with M3 Mashers and Red Kreepies in front, they weigh 12.2 ounces, the rears have Pink Kreeps and weigh 9.5 oz. The angle I cut on the hood of the body is purely for performance reasons. The front shocks have Axial red springs also. Because of the servo/battery tray, I use the stock 3 link up front. I don't like the short drag link off the servo. Four screws will hold the Mashers on the wheel without a problem. The tires are wearing quickly now that it's warming up again. I'm using a Holmes Hobbies 10 turn Cobalt Puller motor, and a Tekin FX-R ESC. I truly feel this is the best brushed combo ever matched together. I'll get more detailed stuff up later. The devil is in the details. |

Looking good dude Is it just me or are your rock rings on inside out? The bevel should be on the outside I believe......... Looks like its time for a new drag link. Just run from the servo to the opposite side and get rid of the shorty. It helps a lot, I did the same thing as well. Looks like your other ones bent all to heck as well. I know a guy who makes some nice Ti steer links Last edited by Rocksmith Eng.; 04-06-2008 at 11:35 PM. |

Looks killa, the new Reign chassis is tempting and that extra AX-10 sitting in the corner of my shop isn't helping matters! |

wut motur doo yoo run? I ran a 35t on 3s lipo today and it seemed so dang slow, I have gotten spoiled by even the 10t pullers. I can't wait to get the Tekin stuff in! They are so tiny it will free up a lot of room in my builds. What do you have your drag set on? There is a push control I want to mess with too. Like a cruise control or something. |

I know, I should make a link to the other side, but it's so much easier to run what's on there. And ya know, I see that the drag link looks bent, I'll have to take a closer look when it's not so late.

I think the push control will make you coast instead of slow down, which isn't what you want. Not in a crawler anyways...

What kind of run time are you getting with your current set up? Just curious how long that 1100mah 3S lipo will last with your motor/gearing combo

If you get rid of the upper drag brake it wont be useful for motors like integy. They have a weak enough feild that it needs full drag to even amount to much.

Not the v10 and v11 integy, the normal ones and motors like the novak 55 will need a lot more drag to get the same effect. They could change the programming to have the final few steps be kinda big, and have more resolution at the bottom end for motors that don't need as much drag. |
