Been awhile , thought I`d throw in a little update . I`ve added a EEM motor plate and a Trinity Epic 45T motor . I`m likeing the new power , I`ve tried 12/90 and 12/87 gearing so far and like the 12/87 the best , decent wheel speed and still able to pull the front wheels up with them fully loaded , helps when you need to hop the front over a ledge or gap . By fourbyaddict, shot with Digimax A402 at 2009-03-13 I also got board a few weeks ago and narrowed the chassis 5mm . I milled 2.5mm of each side of the skid and milled a notch in one side plate for spur clearance , will clear up to a 90t spur . The 87t is pictured . By fourbyaddict, shot with Digimax A402 at 2009-03-13 Made the jump to a DX3R and first time out with it last weekend a stick went up thru the body , hooked the antena and pulled it out of it`s plug . The replacement antenas are out of stock till april for the SR3100 Rx. I have a comp tomarrow so I ordered a SR3520 micro Rx . This thing is tiny and uses a normal type antena thats about 3.5" long vs the long coaxial antenas on the 3100 . i also took the time to made a proper mount for it this time . A new esc mount is next . VP high steers comeing very soon . By fourbyaddict, shot with Digimax A402 at 2009-03-13 By fourbyaddict, shot with Digimax A402 at 2009-03-13 And last , I`ve been working on a new shock set up for over a month , and finally got where I want to be . The revo`s worked well but I was looking for a bit more travle and a smaller dia shock for tire clearance during steering . After several weeks of searching I settled on the rear shocks from a Hot Bodies D4 (#61586) . Currently I have these set up with #2 pistons , 30wt and Venom internal springs (#VEN-8394) with 3.5 coils removed , witch puts them right about 50/50 and a skid height of 2.75" . This set up work really well and is just as predictable as the revo set up . Running the D4 springs on the front (#6150 and HPI #6783 on the rear , these came from the original Nitro MT front . HB #61485 ball are also required for the cap mounts . By fourbyaddict, shot with Digimax A402 at 2009-03-14 |

Thanks , got the knuckles from RPP . Even with the berg I plan to keep the axial alive , the truck has been working very well . Took me to 4th out of 32 at my last comp , highest finishing shaft truck that day. Went into the finalas in third but screwed up two gates from the finish . I can`t say enough about these tires , HPI eighter had their sh*t togeather or just got really lucky when they designed these . They are starting to show some wear but haven`t given up anything in the traction department yet . Some pics from the last couple of outings . I know you got rid of the Revo GTR's, but I just bought some on the bay and am looking for way softer springs. What did you use back then - the white ones? Did the Revo shocks just not give enough travel? The darkside has called you too huh?1 I am building 4 rigs right now and a Berg has been added to the mix, lol. Seems like we all convert at some poitn. |
