Default Low budget stock chassis plate mods???

I am trying to build my nephew a crawler from all of my spare parts.

As his skill progresses id like to slowly show him how to upgrade and maintain his crawler.

Id like to to get the COG as low as I can with the stock AX10 chassis. are there any mods to the side plates that i can do? Ive searched and i cant come up with anything.

Is there any options in cutting the chassis plates down, to get the shocks to laydown lower? So that i can get rid of all of the extra chassis above the body mounts?

If anyone has any ideas or had done this type of a mod please post some pictures.

Thanks

I don't think there is too much you can do with the chassis itself, outside of countersinking all the mounting holes. What about moving as much stuff as you can down and onto the 3 links and axles.

Drill some additional holes in the frame for both the Stage 2 setup and the 4-link holes from 4RnrRick's 4-Link setup. in post #10, you can see where the holes are.

Neither of these will lower the CG, but both will allow way more suspension configuration options.
