Default Exesive's MSD Hybrid chassis build

Well I have had this "awesome" chassis since may, picked it up from Ben when I was in Montana last year, I fell in love with it when Harley first posted it up, and when Ben let me know that MSD would be stocking it I knew I had to have one.

I have been taking my time stocking up on parts to make sure I get this thing done right the first time, and it is about time to get this party started.

I'll make sure to keep you guys updated along the way.

Current parts list includes;

-MSD Hybrid Chassis
-MSD 4-Dyce wheels and lugs (may change)
-Axial axles
-Axial HD diff gears, overdrive fronts
-Axial HD lockers
-Axial straight rear axle
-Axial Aluminum C's
-Axial Aluminum knuckles
-Axial trans
-Axial aluminum shocks
-Axial gray link set
-MIP C-drive (dig shafts)
-Futaba 4pk
-Futaba S9157 steering servo
-Futaba S9551 dig servo
-Racers edge servo arms
-Traxxas revo rod ends
-Panther Cougar tires / f400 foams
-Losi Grappler body (XSRC paint)

waiting arrival of;
-Holmes Hobbies ESC and 30t motor
-Vanquish shifter dig
-Vanquish 4 link plates

I want beefcake links on this thing, so I tried something out on some old green links, not sure If I am going to use the gray links, or the aluminum tube I have on the way.

either way, this should hold up fine.

Drill and tap the link with a M4 tap

M4 x 16 mm set screw, and revo rod end

Compared to a stock Axial rod end

That sure is an impressive picture of parts you got there!

Those Revo ends look better that I thought they would on the stock axial rods.

yeah, the pile became slightly overwhelming when I laid them all out to snap the pic.

the revo ends are worth it for the beef. I have some 1/4 aluminum stock on the way, I'll decide what I want to use for the links when it gets here.

the lower links I have something special planned if it all works out.

I got a set of axial links, but don'r use them cuz the ball ends are weak. I only use revos ends for all my crawlers. Looks like I'll have to but the 4mm tap. They look like the shizzle.

Its not much effort at all, the hardest part is not marring the anodized surface of the links. I picked up a pair of dubro 4mm drill and taps from tower when I ordered my servos

Dude, that is the swettest grouping of parts all in one sitting ever. I wish that was sitting on my table.

More parts to add to the pile.

My Vanquish order showed up today, should be able to make some progress tonight and tomorrow.

Anyone still waiting to pull the trigger on a Vanquish dig should defiantly do it now.

Install was super easy, and parts and finishes are top notch.

Thanks has to go out to Harley also for the servo recommendation, the S9551 seems like it will be perfect for dig duty in this build.

Is that trans going to fit with the slipper installed?

I may have to remove both chassis braces and just go with threaded posts by the shock mounts.

If not I'll order up a new top shaft, but this is what I had here.

I have another hardware order on the way, I hope it gets here tomorrow so I can mount it up for good.
