I hadn't thought much about that until recently......I've had a few people ask now, so I'll probably offer that as an option. I never did before because it gave the customer the choice on how far forward they wanted to run their transmission. I've also been thinking about the idea of just sending an AX-10 template with each order so the customer can do the placement and drilling more easily. Thanks Wolfen.....I like the yellow too. They are not ready yet though. I still want to swap everything over and make sure there are no problems. I'll have the website updated as soon as they are ready JK, but probably the fastest way will be when I set up a vendor page here on RCC. I'll give the link here in this thread as well.

This one is a bit trickier to setup with the different lengths of all the links, but nothing really difficult. I think this one could be run with a bit less weight in the front wheels, and still do as well as the original sinice the transmission is over 1/2" forward. The front shaft is at a bit more of an angle, but the rear shaft is a bit straighter, so that's kind of a wash. With our weather, I haven't really had a chance to do much outside with it, but it's getting nicer so I hope to have some good outdoor runs tomorrow so I can get a better feel.

ohhhhhh, put me down for one with the wider skid and cross members for when they come out. if they are the same price as your F-4 chassis, that is a steal!!! ohh, and i never noticed it, what length shocks are you running with yours??? Last edited by STEEL_CITY_CRAWLER; 01-26-2010 at 02:40 PM. |

Started working on swapping everything out tonight. Out with the old.....in with the new: Ground down the stock Axial motor mount to get the transmission as far forward as possible: I was happy with the lower links, so it was time to cut the 1/4" stainless: And a few shots of it as a roller. I'm heading back downstairs to finish it up now: . |

I picked up more Delrin today, and 70mm wide skids will be available when these start shipping.......no extra charge. I also plan to offer pre-drilled/countersunk skids as an option......no extra charge. I realize it can be frustrating to know what you want, and not have the tools to do it, and I like helping people out when I can.....especially my customers! In the meantime, I got some help from toybuilder with my battery pack and decided to hit my underground table for awhile.......another Colorado snowstorm hit last night, so the table comes in handy. After about 30 minutes, I snapped my other "C". You owe me another "C" Clint

In case you didn't pick up on the theme above, these are available......Now!! $45 shipped in the USA (Canada and Mexico, please add $5....all other countries please add $8.) Accepting Paypal payments at: sales@undergroundcrawlers.com 6061 1/8" aluminum sideplates Full width white or Black Delrin skid Stainless M3 hardware We don't like bashing our heads on the rocks, so skid hardware is countersunk to eliminate hangups. We also don't feel a need to drag our sideplates across the rocks......isn't that what a skidplate is for? We run our skids the full width so they can do their job. Front and trailing edges of the skid are chamfered to eliminate hangups. Of course everything from Underground Crawlers is made with pride in the USA If it's important to you to know where your products are made, don't hesitate to ask the manufacturer!! Once I have pre-drilled and 70mm skids, I will post an official thread in the vendors chassis section.

YGPP! black frame w/ black skid, please! just a thought- might you add 2 more holes along the bottom of the chassis, attatching the skid to the chassis plate independently of the lower link mounts? I'll do this to my chassis when it shows up but maybe it's worth considering for a REV down the road? Last edited by BigSki; 01-31-2010 at 06:32 PM. |
