| steering cable?
I have been looking a bta steering and hi clearance knuckles for some time know and I have seen all the homemade setups as well as kits. While looking I had a crazy idea come into my head. If you used a tie rod and then instead of using a draglink what about a cable like from a bicycle brake or shifter. Just throwing it out there maybe I can play with it alittle.

I would think that the cable might work when it was pulling on the tie rod, but dont think it will be able to keep the wheels pointed in the right direction if it was pushing the tie rod. I think the cable would bend against the force...but I like your thinking out of the box. I say give it a shot and see what happens...maybe a cable/drag link from the servo horn to both steering knuckles? - |

If you use a solid tierod, you could run two cables, one from each knuckle to the servo arm. Would have to be failry tight to prevent slop though.

k I see now it would take up so much room that it wouldn't be feasible on a 2.2 but maybe on a super. Gunnar I'm going to be ordering your body mount kit this weekend I'll pm you with the width its custom. I want the full comp kit. |
