| Longer wheel base.
Does making longer wheel base helps crawling better? I was thinking about making my rear wheel sit a little further back. maybe an inch back. Does it benefit anything? Does it help with tipping over issue when trying to climb a wall, lol.

A longer crawler = longer reach = takes on bigger climbs yes big benefits, therefore comp rules on max lenght. tipping over part is still the same, if you exceed your COG you will flip over | |

I figured out last night and I was able to extend my rig both ways out. It reads 13 1/2 long now and I manage to made my ride height a tad lower as well. It sits 2 5/8 from the belly to ground. I don't know if thats good or not. I will post pictures here shortly.

Here are the pictures as promised.. The links looks parallel, this is good right? Also I made upper links to help my pinion angle. This was my previous set up. All stock with bent links. The set up was getting old and boring and wanted try something new. Last edited by Mr.JayDeeM; 06-24-2012 at 09:03 AM. |

From the pics it's looken good are building just to have fun on the rocks or do you plan on comping with it. If you plan on comping it your wheel base has to be no longer then 12.1/2in.

Is 13 1/2 too long for anything? I'm worried about my ground clearance. I haven't went out and tested it yet.

| Re: Longer wheel base. Maybe your driveshafts?. If you pick up another set, you can cut off the male end and glue it into one of the female ends, then run another female to mate up to it. This will give you much more engagment of the splines. Make sure to leave a gap so the driveshaft can compress when articulating. Are those the new mounts I sent you're using with the red body? |

Yes, those are the new mounts you sent for my red body, thanks I love them. Well, I havent had any problems with my stock drive shaft slipping off yet. It does some lines I couldn't do before which Im impressed.
