I'm using this chassis and was looking for a droop kit. found plenty online but not sure if they fit my chassis. Anyone using my setup and using a droop kit? Thanks |

I may be wrong but that looks like an scx10 frame. If you post in the scx10 stuff you may get more information.

Ok this chassis is used to convert your ax10 scorpion to the scx10.

Yes. But you can build your shocks to droop without the kit.

| Re: AX10 frame droop kit At the moment I have stock Wraith shocks with no springs. The ride hight is where I want it but there's a lot of bouncing on the tyres when driving since the shocks are fully closed. I was looking for a smoother ride but opening up the shocks a bit by mounting them higher at the top without making it ride higher mainly because of drive shaft bind!

buy shorter shocks. You can get stock scx take offs super cheap

Ok get some springs and put nitro tubing inside the shock in the shaft to limit the shock travel also put 3 o rings in the bottom of the shock to help reduce leaks and use associated green slime on each of ring in the shock.

Here is the situation: As you can see in this picture, the ride is as low as it can get. Shocks are fully closed. I have a very slight binding issue when shocks are fully extended, very minimal, but I wish to do something about it. Like I said before when riding on level ground the car bounces on its tyres because there is no spring to take away any of the sharp movement caused by bumps and if I add springs the ride will go higher - not where I want to go because of the binding. I do not wish to get stock SCX10 shocks, in fact I will in the future use King 110mm shocks. I like them tall for the extra travel but the only way I can get them on is if I use a droop kit. I am not after height, on the contrary, I like my trucks low but I also like them to have as much suspension travel as possible. The Wraith in the pictures below is an example of how I like my trucks. All I wish to get is a droop kits for this chassis or make my own. Last edited by THX_138; 01-08-2016 at 09:41 AM. |

OK here is what I would try is a set of shock keys or a droop kit three are several that look like they will work. I did a quick online search and found several that may work for you. Also laying the shocks at an angle as in the picture may help you. Imho Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk |

getting taller shocks really wont improve what you are working with. Putting them on an angle as mentions would give more usable suspension but moving them up and getting taller ones is just a round about and expensive way to shorter shocks. |

Ok, what you both said makes a lot of sense. So moving the top mount of the shock will achieve better travel. Hmmm .. not a difficult task. Need to provide a location where the shock can mount because at the moment there are none available where I am thinking they need to be mounted. Thanks guys, will work with that when I change to taller shocks. Will make styrene brackets for now and try that. Should they work good then it will be a matter of making metal ones. Here's what I tried today! Note the left side top shock mount. Chassis is still the same height, and I can insert springs. |
