| Little Betty my AX10
My little Monster got a new friend little Betty, just got her out of the bay. How it came: AX10 Scorpion (Kit Version i think), 2.2" Axial Rock Lizards Team Orion SV2 Method R 55T with Robitronic SpeedStar 2 Crawler geared 87 / 24 48P Tower Pro MG945R Incl. Graupner remote 40mhz Torn it a part to see how it looks: Front Tires are weighted with 80 g each (one is a little rusty), Rear Tires are weighted with 37,5 g each. Vented the tires with 3 holes done by a leather punch, replaced one foam with a kit foam from my yeti. Axles looks like new just replaced bearings, had a incision spool on the shelf so Little Betty got the first upgrade (front axle). Greased. Transmission is also like new except one thing Rebuilding the shocks, i found rubbed pistons and lots of play in the shaft. Ordered new alloy shock cups. Can't find pistons so i have to live with, my spare from the icons doesn't fit. Maybe someone can tell me where i can find piston that fit the stock shocks. Also in the mail new screws, will replace the old school philips to hardend steel torx (like i did on my little monster). Cause the esc and motor only can use 2s lipo i have them on order to. Now waiting for the mail....... On the list new tires, foams, HD UD rear, spool for the rear, maybe HD OD front. HH Puller Pro 2700 + mamba micro X. 3S Overall i'm happy. Ether a shelf queen or really well maintained and driven carefully. Last edited by magic_yeti; 03-06-2017 at 12:30 PM. |

Nice. Those bodies are hard to find. AX80014 is the part number you're looking for on the shock pistons. AX80014 | eBay |

Thx for the Part number. I have just downloaded the manual now. Is there an option to get only pistons? sent by magic_yeti Last edited by magic_yeti; 03-07-2017 at 11:06 AM. | |

Little Betty ist ready for my Maiden Drive with her. It' training Cats and Dogs outside so only a little indoor shake down. Replaced all screws with grade 12.8 torx, Alu Shock Cups, regreased. Not very impressed by the steering Angle so far compared to my Yeti. Will see how it works outside. Also the tires seem to be getting old and loose tracktion. Will Test this Out, new ones still on the list. Throttle response ist smooth and very good controlable, but the actve Hill Brake is a Joke. sent by magic_yeti |

Looking deeper into the steering Angle. To gain more you have to do a full modification. Cause more steering Angle will let the tires rub on the links, so the links have to move inside. Which needs a modification on the plate. But I will leave it original as possible. Like you said it's a Classic. Only I will maybe do is 4ws or strait axle outputs rear, hi clearence links, 4 link setup, cvd's, HD Gears, Brushless. Keeping the Classic Touch. sent by magic_yeti |

Had to check the post date on this. It's a new thread. Fooled me... We should have a vintage section on here. |

Nice looking Betty's. Went out today and drove my Betty the first time. The Rock Lizards that came with didn't had grip any more. So the little monster lent her a set Falken Wild Peak. I've ordered her a set of the new hyrax 2.2, also in the mail high clearence links and 2 cheap rc4wd 35t and 55t Motors for testing. Speed was a little slow. Till my budget allows the micro x hh setup, i will use my sv3 sct ESC in the mean time from my froggy. So I can test 3s also. sent by magic_yeti |

That was the first rig I owned when it first came out! Ton of fun! I think you'll like the Hyrax you ordered but you might also consider their two stage foams. Or maybe Crawler Innovations. Enjoy! Last edited by Mtnkid; 03-13-2017 at 07:43 PM. |

Thx i thought about ordering CI foams, which i use in my Yeti Tire sets ( Falken dw, voodoo klr dd), but not sure which ci foams are the right ones. And budget is tide so I stay first with the delivered foams. And ordered some other items instead of CI foams. Which will be the right CI foams for my little betty (5lbs) with the hyrax? sent by magic_yeti |

Someone else may better suited to say which ones, but with those wheels, I would say CWR-1024 (6" DD comp cut inner/soft outer) for the front, and CWR-1025(6" DD comp cut inner, medium outer) for the rear. These have a "tuning ring" that allows you to adjust according to your liking. Hope that helps.

Took her out today. Testing the new tires. Found a new problem the Drive shafts are gliding of the trans outputs, set screws where tide and screwed in using loctide. So I need new outputs. I also need more weight down sehe rolls very easy sidehilling, so a Set Brass beeftubes goes on the list. The new hyrax are great, very sticky and lots of grip. It's hard but i have to cut the body a little more on the rear, cause of the bigger tires. Over all it's Fun driving her. sent by magic_yeti |

Installed Bras beef tubes in both axles too gain more weight down. Beef patties are in the Mail. Also put the new outdrives in. Unfortunatly i forgot to order the m3 pin screws. Changed ESC to sidwinder and installed the 55t rc4wd Motor. So ready to test 3s. sent by magic_yeti |

Cutting the OG body would break my heart, but it has to be done if i use the Hyrax tires. So i decided i need a new body. Got an Bltz Beatle for 12Eur on the bay. So i have training/all day body for little betty. Got her out this Weekend. And the installed blue springs are way too stiff. There is nearly no compression, and she sits on full ride high. Will try softer springs, have a set from my yeti rear shocks. Crawling and sidehill have improved with the beef tubes installed in the axle. On 2s the 55t is lacking wheel speed, the over all speed is ok. Next time i will try 3s. Last edited by magic_yeti; 03-27-2017 at 12:04 AM. |

Good call sparing the body . I still have a new unpainted Betty on the shelf, think it would make a sweet super body. |
