Tranny is slid all the way forward, and I had to cut the motor side of the chassi. All I really had to cut was make the rounded corner into a square corner. The tranny is touching the chassis on the front side, the motor is touching on the backside, it's almost like Brad built it for this setup!

I love these puller motors. My last 2.2 comp rig had the 5 turn in it. I liked that motor, but running on 11.1V it got real hot real quick, and was only limited to 5 minute comp runs. The 10 turn stays super cool and still provides killer power and decent wheelspeed. I may have to try a 7 turn next, maybe it'll be the best of both worlds.

That's the plan, I'm hoping that we can get some of the "old timers" here to start posting all the cool tech again and we can show these newbies how it's done. I just figured I'd lead it off be example;)

WOW!! $96.40.......Are they really worth it? I've been looking into these, but never figured up what they cost. I'm running Integy Piggybacks on my SW3, and they work great (and don't leak, which everyone tells me is unusual), but I keep bending the shafts on the two rear shocks.

I guess I'll find out. Either I'll bite the bullet and order some, or I'll check yours out in person Jason at the Midwest Challenge.


Also, what kind of belly clearance you got with that set-up. It looks really low. Mine is sitting right at 2 3/4" and yours looks lower.

DX3R - is the third channel switch a stationary or a momentary switch?

They are worth it IMO. I have a set on my 2.2 and my Super, the smoothest shock I've ever tried.

I have a few sets of those shocks, they never cost me that much,but I do love them!! They were in my RR when I crushed it, still fine!

I think that it is stationary, will have to wait for jason to find out for sure though. The DX3R will be the radio to have.

Well Brad, your comments in your build thread is what got me looking at these shocks. I've never paid more than $30 for a set of 4 shocks. BUT....I've never been 100% pleased with any of them either. These are off a XXX, correct? Rears? Anywhere else to get them as an assembled package, maybe cheaper?

They are off the rear of the XXX-T CR truck. They are just a hair longer then the standard 4" (100mm) shock too. As far as I know they are not available pre-built. I think Losi offered them complete at one time, but they aren't available that way anymore.

I have heard from someone (Bender ), that the 3rd channel switch returns to center, like the DX3. You can click it once, and the 3rd channel will stay in that position. I assume that if you click it back the other way, it will stay in that position, having 3 total positions. I can't wait for this radio.

The 3rd channel switch does return to center everytime you hit it, just like the DX3.

Jason had it set-up so when you hit the 3rd channel switch once, the R2D goes into front wheel drive with neutral at the rear axle. Then, you hit it again in the same direction to lock the rear wheels. Back the other way once for neutral again, then again for 4wd. I drove it briefly last night and it works great.
