| What did you do to your Ridgecrest today?
Did you buy it,paint it, mod it, upgrade it, take it on the trail? What ever you did post it here. I'll go first. while waiting on parts i worked on the body. i need the c hub and knuckle so i can get the wheel back on and finish trimming. go the plastic parts from the lhs. just wanted to finish the body, i had to cut a little bit not, not much. Quote: yeah $210 in upgrades for a $310 truck... as of right now i'm broke so i cant do much to the truck. but i was off one day and bored so i made a video of my truck on my cheesy little test trail. i used the trial versions of the editing and conversion software so some fidelity and edit points were misplaced...enjoy backwoods - YouTube | |

| Re: What did you do to your Ridgecrest today? I can get the Ridgecrest for $260 on 3 payments of $87 by buying it through Towerhobbies. Which is $50 cheaper than any of the LHS.

Today i bought shocks, axial stage 1 upgrade kit, aluminum hubs and knuckles. Also a 55t motor ,steel drive shafts and aluminum steering linkage. That's all the massaging she gets. We'll see how it does in the am.

that's a pro line 1980 silverado body, i think it is for a tmaxx, i'm not sure. i installed an strc aluminum tie rod and drag link and a set of the pro line super swampers the other day, they are amazing! i have been developing a water proof box that will hold my electronics. (this is a mock up pic), i have finished the project and it works well. at first i used a dense foam weather strip but it ended up acting like a sponge. now to seal the lid i ran several beads of rubber gasket maker to the lid and let it cure. so when i'm running in dry i can remove the lid as to not have any heats issues and when it gets wet snap on the lid and i'm golden. super swampers.wmv - YouTube |

out of th ebox my receiver was DOA so i MODDED and installed and used the traxxas radio and receiver from my revo so i could play. I NEED to slow this down so i can play with my ax10 and LNC this thing is squirly! bash the crawls and run up the quarry after it. the other mod was 6 ounces of weight in the front wheels (3 each) if the tires were not glued i would trim the foams. does anyone have a good choice for a steering servo.. the stock one is WEAK |

its called "really useful box" and i picked it up at staples about a year ago. Go Shopping - Really Useful Boxes - 0.14 litre Really Useful Box a lot of guys use plastidip or epoxy to waterproof their electronics as well, i just wanted to attempt something different. any servo is better than the stock servo! i'm using a hitec hs 7955 tg |

I waterproof electronics with a heavy duty lubricant. It's called LPA III made by Lawson. Use it on my ATV. Goes on liquid, then hardens like a flexible wax. Comes off with most solvents. I'd use engine gasket maker around anything that gets hot.

I decided to change the body on my ridgecrest so I picked up he jeep rubicon body by proline racing. Here is the finished product... I know it's nothing compared to what a lot of members are capable of, but for my first time I thought it came out pretty good [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Thanks. Now to get some action shots! |
