Default PL Power Wagon Fitment

So, I have seen fullspeeddesign's "Capragon" on YouTube. I don't use Facebook, but I've seen posts on here alluding to some others mounting Power Wagon bodies on Capra cages.

Well, I've got an unassembled Capra kit sitting here and a Power Wagon on the way, so any tips from folks who have done it would be appreciated. Otherwise, I'll use this thread as a place to record my hacky attempts to fit it.

Okay so for those inquiring minds who want to know:

After trimming the rear of the cab to fit around the cage, and the fenders off for obvious reasons, you still have an issue as seen here where the cage doesn't fit under the hood.

Not sure what to do here. I've seen the Capra hood run with the cab and grill, but I want to save the hood. Time to step away and think over some options.

Oh man, I am going to like how this is going to work out! I havent seen the whole cab (at least this much front clip mean). You could even complete it a little more with some 3d inner fender work. This will be cool. What color you thinking?

I don't have anything picked out yet, but I am leaning green like Tamiya PS-9. I think I'll just head to the LHS and grab whatever jumps out.

Paused on the trimming for now. I need to plan how I want to mount it before I make any more cuts.

It is definitely not a clean fit. Looked at it with fresh eyes this morning, tried fitting rear "fenders" made from the bed and found that the angle of the cage causes the bed sides to make contact with the shock body. Nothing really fits on this cage, but I'm still going to make something happen.

Build, for anyone interested, is:

Castle Mamba X

Futaba 4PM & R304SB rx
Promodeler 630oz-in for steering
Spektrum thing for the dig servo
SSD 8-spoke Beadlocks 1.9"
Proline Interco TSL XL super swampers
TGH 30% overdrive up front
SuperShafty servo mount
SuperShafty rear link relocation kit

Waiiting on most of these parts currently

So, how the heck would you guys mount this body?

It's not ruined yet, but I'm always happy to try harder

Fenders really wouldn't have worked, at all. The way it is cut now, all I need to do is snug the front down so the sides of the hood conform to the frame.

Just came across this pic with capra and PW body. The cut looks similar to yours just to give an idea. Going to look good with something like that green

Looks good in that natural patina.

I’d be inclined to try and keep the hood attached to the cab. You could maybe hinge at the back of the cab to the cage so the whole thing could swing back for battery access.

Now this is an idea I could get behind.

No progress yet. Going to get electronics in tomorrow and then start worrying about the body mounting again.

Thanks!

On a side note, anyone know where to fit a Mamba X in one of these without taking the fan off?
