Given that most axial kits have goodies that the rtrs don't offer, I'm more interested to see what they add to the kit.

It'll be front half Wraith kit parts and rear half yeti kit parts.

Upper & lower trailing arm plates, universals, maybe HD gears.

Unlikely, but maybe they also designed a rr10 skid that blends the rr10 receiver box with the wraith trans & wraith rear end. So the kit would come with the tried & true wraith/scx trans & 4 link rear end.

Rc people are funny, for the last couple of years I've seen everyone wanting to put trailing arms on wraiths & fit 2 speed trans, now axial has gone & done it in a new chassis half a dozen or so want to go back to the old trans & 4 link.
It takes all sorts I suppose & luckily this hobby caters for that pretty well.

Kit wise I think I someone else, possibly Harley, suggested seeing as the electronics package in the RTR is fairly low budget the kit probably wouldn't get the level of upgrades the yeti did.
I'll guess it'll drop $50 & get front uni shafts, rear arm & upper braces & of course clear body, with beadlock wheels, front links, & swaybar a maybe. Doubt it'll get the HD gearsets but I'd like to be wrong.

I would think that they will add in a sway bar to the kit at least.

Probably around 8 months like the Wraith and Yeti were.
Also, there isn't much to gain from a kit version with this rig.
The newer electronics are not horrible and worth the $50 "savings" the kit will provide.
It already has aluminum shocks and good compound tires. Metal trans. The upgrade parts would likely be non glued wheels(but still glue on) clear body, and maybe the strength plates for rear trailing arms and front aluminum links. All low budget items that still aren't the best upgrades.
Get the RTR, repurpose or sell electronics if you need to and start having fun.

The bomber have the Tactic TTX300 radio, a $50 savings right there.
Another $55 in esc/motor and $20 servo.
$100-120 should buy good upgrades for the kit version.

I wish they develop a nicer front arms. Those skinny metal round links are ugly when you put near the trailing arms like the Vanquish ones.

That's not how they discount the price though. The bomber is only $400. The kit would be $350 most likely. Better off getting the RTR and selling what you don't need.

I wish it would be less than $350 but I don't see it happening either.

The Wraith Spawn kit is only $40 less than the RTR so $350-360 seems like the price range. Front universals and the rear swaybar are the only things possibly included that wouldn't be replaced anyway since I doubt it will have HD gears or the 2 speed.

Been spreading the rumor of late February / early March.

So far so good.

I gather that we'll be seeing a kit around February.

Extra parts? Prolly' a swaybar for the rear, lower swing-arm plates, and the Wraith aluminium lower front swing arms. And màybe, just maybe, proper beadlocks, but that's not very likely.

The kit won't be much cheaper, but I just like the building bit. So I'll wait for the kit. For now, I haven't seen the RTR even available overhere in Europe.

So, we'll see in due time.

I usually buy the kits, but I couldn't wait with this one. I will be replacing the trailing arms, electronics, maybe the shocks, I have a spare set of universal's going in this, and doing mostly cosmetic changes so for me the RTR was the way to go this time around.

Cheers,
Wade

I'm going to try and hold out for the kit. I keep telling myself my next rig will be a kit. A sc10, wraith, losi rally x, and ascender (all rtr) later I'm still telling myself that. I haven't built a kit since 1987 I believe it was, I was 11 or 12 and my dad I and I each built a tamiya fox (still have 1 of them). I think this is an ideal rig to build up to my specs. I only hope it comes out sooner than later. Would love for axial to give us some sort of idea when they may hit the shelves.
