| SSD wheels and VP hubs, what combo stops rub?
I've decided to keep my SSD assassassin (HA!) wheels on my bomber but with the stock hubs I'm getting contact on the rear cage and on the battery compartment right behind the faux shock resit on the front. I am using 2.2 pitbull Rb II right now. What VP hub would I need to use to have enough clearance to stop the contact? Seems like .475 would be the one but they are out of stock everywhere but VP direct (no discount) and I hate to buy something just to find out I needed the next size up. Thanks!!! |

You coukd always go with spacers by gearhead or Dlux fab to achieve wider stance without spending $30 on vp hubs

What size hubs are you using now and how bad is the rubbing?

Stock hubs that came with the ssd wheels. The rubbing is so bad it stops the wheels in the front and after about 20 minutes of run time it's already polished the screws on the back of the cage from tire contact. I don't want to use spacers. Would rather have the right hubs. |

Well Im not sure if they use the same size hubs but the ones that came with my SSD 2.2 and 1.9 steelies were pretty slim. Probably close to a VP 225. I believe each increment is 1/16" but dont quote me. I use 350 SLWs all around on my wraith; not that that helps much... |

I couldn't find any fitting info on the slw hubs. I could swear I've seen a chart with each size off set. All I have here is a 225 and 775 from a yeti.

Try the .725 off your yeti to get an idea. A .600 is exactly .600", each size is 1/8th up or down.

I'm thinking its the flex from the links causing the rub on the chassis. The front only touches the frame if I shove enough to bend the lower links. Took a couple pics just for reference. One side is the stock SSD hub (about a VP 225 I think) and other id a yeti size VP 725. Stock: 725 VP hub: Going to try some 350 hubs (if I can find them) and some gear head spacers for now. Looks like new links in the future too....it never ends |

Which hubs did you end up going with? I'm looking to run the same wheel/tire combo. Which foams are you running?

Great info, I just ordered some 725's for my Bomber, with Irok 2.2's and SSD Steel Beadlocks. Don't know if 725's are going to be too wide, but it'll make it more stable and hopefully rub less. Now thinking I should have got 600's

I ordered some 600 hubs and they should be here today. Really wanted 450 but not in stock anywhere for a decent price. I think the 725 on the back of my yeti is what's causing a lot of my axle shaft issues (bending and breaking) . So I didn't want to go too wide on the bomber. I'll snap some pics and post after I get these bolted up. |

I am amazed at how much less the truck flops now. Did some running on a quick track in the woods and the bomber can side hill quite well now. Does seem to catch the diffs and skid a little more but nothing some throttle can't fix |
