Default Torque Twist?

But of a noob here...been scouting out the bomber and watched a lot of videos. It seems like out of the box on 3s the left front wants to come off the ground on any decent acceleration and/or steep crawls. I am assuming this is known as torque twist? How are you guys stopping this from happening especially with the big brushless motors?

Underdrive rear, 43/13, helped mine a lot and I'm running a Holmes Puller Pro on 3S.

In addition to the above, I added heavier wt shock oil and stiffer springs in the rear as well. Not sure what made the biggest difference because I did it all at the same time. The torque twist and rear body roll isn't bad at all now. I don't even notice it any more, and it certainly doesn't impact my driving.

Suspension set up can also reduce the TT. Thicker oil or stiffer springs on the affected side. I just swapped out my stock shocks for big bores with the stock springs and it reduced it by 75%. Running 30wt in the rear and 15wt in the front. Don't know what wt oil you will need with the stock shocks so you will have to figure that out yourself. Reminds me of the first AX10. That bad boy had mad TT out of the box just like the Bomber.

Damn, Smitty beat me to it!

Does adding the sway bar limit the articulation?

UD all around and a sway bar if you need a little more. Changing springs and oil for TT only hurts in other places, so don't mess with that.

Go with a soft bar and it won't hurt it at all.

UD? What's that?

I agree on leaving springs and oil alone for this problem as they will impact performance of normal driving.

Not to beat a dead horse, but why UR in both vs UD rear and standard front? I know that the rear tires will drag slightly when going slower than the front, but others advocate UD rear for better crawling?

Thanks

UD rear for crawling. The Bomber isn't a crawler.

Pretty much.

Splitting the gearing is a great way to keep the front planted, but only when you've got the traction to do so. I ran my comp rig with OD/UD and loved it. On everything else I prefer UD/UD. You'll lose a tiny bit of speed (easily made up with a pinion swap, more voltage, or faster motor), but gain a big reduction in TT, plus you don't have the added drag on the motor and drivetrain.
