ESC blinking red on brand new Bomber, no response at all.

Hi,

I just bought a brand new Bomber. I turned on the transmitter and put in a charged battery. The ESC beeps twice for 2s LiPo, the steering servo moves a little and then the ESC just blinks red. No response on throttle or steering. All trims in middle.

Any ideas?

It sounds like a low battery or a reversed or bad connection

Might be the throttle is not centered. Turn the trim knob untill it arms.

The battery is charged. I have tried with two separate batteries.


I have tried turning the throttle trim but I am not sure I'm doing it right.
Should I turn on the transmitter, plug in the battery and then slowly turn the trim?

Yes. Hopefully thats all it is.

You can also pull the trigger a little at a time to for it to arm then turn the knob to find neutral.

Is the red light on the transmitter? Mine out of the box would not turn on. Took it apart, wiggles some wires,and put it back together, and it worked

I have tried turning the trim and pulling the trigger in many ways now and it doesn't work.

Yes, the light is on on the transmitter.

The steering does not work at all. The servo just moves a little when I plug in the battery. After that no response at all from throttle or steering.
No change at all in the red blinking when I pull the trigger.

Sounds like you need to bind the receiver to the radio.

Yeah, hopefully that will fix it. Since the car is brand new and has not run at all and the receiver is not located in an easy to reach place I will let the store take care of that. I don't want to do anything that will void warranty before the car has even run once...

I got a bad ESC in my first RC, an RTR Spawn. Called Axial and a week later had a brand new one in my mailbox. Their customer service has always been great for me. I'd call them.

The only problem is that I won't see the car for a while unless it's the binding thing. They should be able to fix that during the day...

I would just do it yourself man. You need to learn how to work on this thing. This isn't the only time you'll ever have it torn apart. Mine's in pieces at least once a week.

That would be stupid. Since it has not run once anything can be broken. If I open it up to bind it and that wasn't the problem they can say that warranty is void and I have to fix it myself which probably would not be a problem except I would have to pay for all parts myself. Even the transmitter could be broken...
Why take the risk???
When I have used it I will fix it. Then it will probably be hard to claim warranty...
