Lol its not that hard but can be a pain without the right tools. The solder will really only flow where the flux is and with using gravity to keep most of it going down away from hex nut it doesn’t get in threads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Re: Hoyt's Bomber Thank u The cage, panels and fuel cell (basically how its pictured is 2.2lbs. On the heavy side but to me heavier rigs look more realistic when it comes to articulation etc. that being said hopefully I’m not just digging holes goin up hill. I will weigh rig when its all together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I feel the same way about heavy rigs - they may not win comps, but for scale driving and bashing it makes the rig react more realistically. I seriously dig the way that cage came out, with those panels. ...dope, DOPE, DOPE! |

Alright got this thing up and running. Im pretty happy with how it turned out. I have not driven it on anything super steep and still working on my bouncer hill behind the house but it does feel planted to the ground. When i get the chance i will post up some specs and the always present list of needed/wanted parts. Some pics for now. Its been a fun truck to drive thus far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thats awesome. Loving the grooved tires as well. And most importantly, driven like you stole it. What do you think you hit for a top speed?

Boy I have no idea on top speed but it's got some pep. Running HH ble with puller pro (540) 3500kv on 3s. 64t spur gear with a (I'm guessing here cause I forget) 17t pinion. No issues thus far and hey if u build a bouncer u gotta drive it like one lol. I think u asked me about weight last time. The truck pictured (minus the battery) is 7.7lbs. Just some short Slow Mo vids of the bouncer bouncing. Its been running pretty good with no big hiccups. It does feel really planted and I'm actually happy with the cut Baja's for now. I do want to add a little weight up front and low (see below). I currently only have a aluminum beef tube up front so I just ordered a brass set for the front and going to switch the aluminum to the rear. Aside from that will most likely just be fixing things as they break. Just running stock bomber trans with nut on slipper cranked all the way down. Electronics Holmes Hobbies BLE Pro HH Puller Pro BL 3500Kv Savox 1283SG Servo CC BEC Ucfab Sway Bar: Love this thing Stock King shocks for now (one is sticking on me and not sure why yet) Vanquish knuckles Vanquish Servo Axle mount Upgraded Titanium Steering tie rod and drag link Tires are the stock Baja's but cut up Rear are CI Deuce's Wild Single Front are CI Double Deuce with soft outer What you got here is the start of a small bouncer section on the hill behind my house. Will be adding more as I get the time. Last edited by hoyt; 06-08-2019 at 08:32 PM. |

I am a big fan of tsl's. Ran them all the time in my 1.9 trucks. When I decide on a wheel I will most likely grab some tires to. Just picked up a brass beef tube and proline power strokes for the front. One of the front shocks is just done. Aluminum beef tube that's currently up front will go to rear. Just need to find time to install.

So after a summer of beating on the truck i had a couple issues but not to bad. Felt like i was maybe a touch lite in the front but other then that was a lot of fun to drive and beat on. In the end i ended up bending a lower front link, managed to break one of my welds some how, bent a front shock and killed my two 3s lipo’s. The lipo,s were like 10 years old so not gonna complain there. The holmes motor ran great and still going strong along with the savox servo. I will be making a couple subtle changes to the cage to make it more like the krog show and hopefully some paint and panels that are similar. I had debated on going with a wraith trans but in the end decided not to. To many changes would have to be made and i would rather have this running and work on a new build. Whats in store for the tear down and rebuild. Gonna try some proline slash shocks and see how i like them. Bought the extra springs for adjustments. Brass beef tube up front and aluminum to rear. Incision lockers front and rear Much needed new rod ends and pivot balls. And a lil vp truss bling because why not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Forgot I never posted up photos of the new paint job and panels. The new bits were added. Still need to replace the front lower links which are now both bent. Love the new shocks. This is by far my most driven truck. It is a blast just hammering it uphill. Old tire and wheels (new wheels went to a different build) were thrown back on for the time being. The cut Baja's actually work pretty good. Although I have not tried anything else yet lol. Plan on at least some new tires in the near future and hopefully some new wheels as well. Future plans are to switch to a wraith trans (hoping to knock a little weight off) and make a new more solid spot up front for the battery (winter time project I think). Looking great, man - that paint is really nice, and you've definitely got that bouncer style nailed!

| Re: Hoyt's Bomber Thanks man, I've done quite a few builds over the past 11 years and this is definitely my favorite. Although I am building a dedicated scx2 crawler since I have not run anything slow in quite a while.
