Default new bomber kit build (a problem)

http://vid78.photobucket.com/albums/...psy8h7vkt7.mp4

so the kit comes with universals which are supposed to be better turn radius, which they are for sure but binding at full lock, even when steering turned down to like 50%, took axle apart and re-did

please check out vid and advise as I was pumped to rip this new rig and now I just busted a servo and have to get this rectified, any idea what could be binding here?

Step 1. Take it off your bench.
Step 2. Drive it outside.

There is no step 3.

Universals speed up and slow down when they are turned. So do "CVDs" since they are not actually CVDs.

so when I'm at full lock and it BUCKS as it does in the video I posted that is normal with the universals?

I had dogbones on older scx10's that were smoother than this.

this is my first time dealing with anything other than dogbones mind you but it just don't seem right brutha
but I do see what your saying I think with having turns work with the terrain.

If you aren't comfortable with it turn the steering down a bit. Dlux and some other people will take the universals apart, clearance everything and put them back together.

Flipped over mine binds so bad at full lock it tries to stop the truck. It is fine driving, you would never even know it binds. I have mine turned up so the tire just hits the spring, no issues splitting universals

Ignore the bent "chromo" Vanquish rear axles, those things might actually be made of aluminum

I don't even take mine apart (just out of the truck), just touch the tips of the "ears" with a dremel sanding drum to smooth them off.
This my Wraith set up on 1.9s with XR width SCX10 axles but the uni joint shafts look exactly the same at the knuckle end.
You can see the shiny spot where I've just taken off the sharp corner, I do that to both the stub & inner axle.

that's a great idea man, do you gotta remove the shafts to do this?

I'm not Alt, but you don't need to take it apart, just remove it from the truck

I do it before I install them, I wouldn't be attempting it in the truck, you could try it, but I won't be recommending it.
Is just way easier to do on the bench than in the truck, you need decent access & working in the knuckle would just be a pain.
You want to take off just a small amount at a time & just enough to improve the clearance.
