Hey Goose....I really like you stock scx10 body! I am still deciding on how to paint mine lol. Did you added light reflectors to the headlights? how did you do that?
I might wanna lower my body more, to the point I might have to remove the stock shock hoops and make some aluminum ones. It would then also lower the shocks and thus giving it a lift with a belly tuck.
Goose let me know when you have pics up of your hilux.

I just put the pics online ....

http://www.bcd-community.de/images/4...php?cat_id=187

I still have to lower the back about 1cm ...

The stock SCX body has working lights in the front. I bought them at Conrad in Germany ...

LIGHT

With all those dents and scratches I realy liked the Body ...

Made some mods, fabricated some aluminum to lower the body more, basically I wanted a belly tuck.
Removed the back shock hoops and replaced it with some aluminum shock mounts/body post.

By lowering the back I gained some "lift" in the back shocks so to balance out I made some aluminum shock mounts to lower the front shocks for more lift. This will also allow me to set the shock adjusters to the softest setting.

Here are some flex shots

Thanks. Oh the green ring...lol...I keep the inner ring green as my wife likes it used as the outer beadlock ring. I had initially polished the thicker outer ring so that its mirror chrome looking but it didn't match the satin chrome look of the wheel itself, so a couple of days ago I sanded it so that its not as shiny.

looks nice, i like the white a lot more than i thought i would and i like your idea of using magnets so much that i just got some off fleabay. question on your new shock mounts though, i guess you said you're lowering the shocks to get a suspension lift and not really lowering how high the shell sits on relative to the frame? the rear hoops on the scx seem to be the highest point relative to the hilux shell and you're still using it for your body posts, are there issues with wheel rubs if you lower the body any more? anyway, thanks for the inspiration, hopefully this is the last push that gets me to finish my scx to actually take it out to the trails instead of "crawling" junk i have sitting around the living room.

Yes I used the stock body posts and cut them down to Shoe Goo a magnet to each. My hilux does have rubs, not on the back but the front, during full articulation and full turn of the steering. So I sometimes use the HPI stock car wheel that has 0 offset and Rock Crushers and it narrows the width more so it won't have as much fender rub.

Painted the body with Krylon Fusion white and added LED lights.

The Main head lights are white leds and fog being amber colored led. I was thinking of getting the 3 Racing LED system as it had turn signal lights and stuff...might still get it if I get bored with this basic set up. It runs on a 9v battery. I got the lights from ebay for like $10...all soldered and ready to mount, from Bills RC lighting.

btw, how long does it take for RPP to get stuff shipped to Canada?

FAST!
took about 4-5 days for my stuff, but it depends on how long customs holds it,the value for taxes and crap; can take days for them to do the paperwork.
