So is there a reasion your runing one of your front tires forwards and the other backwards

dezslash 11-15-2009 07:47 AM

i really like how you did the cage. The 1/4'' tubing fits it good, makes it look like it has 2" tubing like a 1:1 would have.

ls1 jeeper 11-15-2009 10:15 AM

i love this truck, do you mind if i try to make one that looks like this?

i think it would be real cool... this body really doesnt see enough action. I feel there are a couple of styling issues that needed to be addressed with it like, the rockers are about double of what they should be , and the body sides needed to be pulled in at the bottom to fix the proportions. I fit the body inside the sliders and found some reference pics for the rockers. I was much happier after those little changes

looneybin 11-15-2009 04:27 PM

i love this truck. i would love to build a similar truck but i agree the proportions on it are a little off, mainly the fenderwells sticking up into the trim:? i like the detachable exo too. great job

rmdesignworks 11-15-2009 05:07 PM

very nice indeed,,i cannot add anything that hasnt already been said,,except to say i agree you did a really nice job.

ls1 jeeper 11-16-2009 06:41 PM

thanks again

That is a great looking and really unique truck. I like the interior and am curious about the motor mount. I need to switch some things around in my Fj40 build to make some room. Do you have any pics from before you put the tunnel in?

Just Zach 11-21-2009 09:16 PM

It was cool getting to see your rig today will8) It tore it up today"thumbsup"

88gmchog 11-30-2009 08:25 AM

Badd 11-30-2009 12:30 PM

Man your rig looks good BuuuuuuuuttttT it ain't a truggy.
A truggy' don't have frame rails behind the cab .
truck + tube bed = truck with tube bed
truck + buggy = truggy
It is simple math . "thumbsup"

EVILution

So after having a killer time racking up as many points i could possibly stand at my first scale comp I decided some changes were in order. Lower COG first and foremost. I was really debating to just start over because I did not want to mess up what I thought was a killer looking rig. So out came the cut off wheel and I guess this is the next stage.

8.196 Lbs after the comp and river water soaked foams.
http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...RTINNI/305.jpg

I stripped out my stock axial trans just before the comp and within five minutes of bashing in the back yard the day after the comp so I invested in a aluminum case and robinson metal gears. But I was having a hard time with the crazy heavy hardened output gear. So I chucked it in my Mill and ground through the hardening then drilled it, too bad it hides away inside a case.

http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...RTINNI/321.jpg

Oh a fresh 35t integy hand wind. which i am diggin

http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...RTINNI/348.jpg

Cut the front fender tubes, fabbed front shock mounting, new zero ackerman zero bumpsteer steering, the hand brothers axle mount is still there. but i raised the servo so the axle could sit closer to the framerails.

http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...RTINNI/327.jpg

http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...RTINNI/333.jpg
http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...RTINNI/335.jpg

and this upper cage with its single screw has worked excellent holding the body. Although now ill have to do something for the bedsides and probably the hood also.

And this one is for Badd "the truggy buster" bwahaha
http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/w...RTINNI/359.jpg

The steering is metal plates attached to vanquish high steer knuckles. I decided to build the zero ackerman into the front actuated rear tie rod plates.

Well any way thats where it is at now...

Just Zach 12-06-2009 12:54 AM

I saw this tonight and it's just plain awesome! The steering was amazing and I really like the new look. It's got to be one of the meanest looking scalers I've seen"thumbsup"
